It will be good to have Mo back. The Rockets have clearly missed his scoring punch. It's ridiculous that the league has drug testing anyway. Leave the persecution of peaceful, recreational drug users to cops. If it weren't for the idiotic policy, this league mix-up wouldn't have happened.
Oh Batman you really are childish to rile me so. Especially when it is obvious this whole thing had to do with weed. If it was anything else it would be well distributed by the Taylor camp, instead it is hush hush, Mo is back in the Program, can't we all get along. Then you want to go start trouble. Start it with yourself. I am too busy to argue the obvious to the blind.
It did have to do with weed, in that, had the first offense(s) not happened, this suspension wouldn't have happened. So to directly connect, this incident was indirectly connected to the first. Even if it was pain killers. Whether that's LeGrouper's point or not, is another story... this is how I see it though. Glad to have Mo back... let the "real team" begin to form.
You're off base, according to Mr. Feigen: Taylor had taken a combination of medicines for his dislocated left shoulder in October. The length of his suspension indicated he had been ruled to have used a banned substance, most likely an amphetamine. Taylor had told Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy and teammates that he would be exonerated, but was barred by his agreement with the league from specifically discussing the original ruling or details of Monday's decision. But after reaching an agreement with the league his appeal hearing was canceled, indicating that he was reimbursed the $86,666 he was fined for games he missed. NBA officials are not permitted to comment about any details of a player's case in the anti-drug program. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/2230372 Doesn't sound like a plant to me. Maybe you should spit out the seaweed, LeGrouper.
amphetamines huh? Atleast Mo does something right. So thats how he lost the weight. I do the same thing. Mo is smart. Im glad he is trying to slightly bend the rules so he can be the best player he can be. And in case any of you are wondering, yes I am for performance enhancing because I believe the other teams players do it(shaq), so its only fair that we do to!!!
The NBA's suspension appeal process should be changed. When a player appeals he should STILL be able to play (like in baseball). Then if found guilty that player can serve the games of his suspension. But if found not guilty that player can keep playing. It is a WIN-WIN situation for the team, player and the league. But the way they have it now it is possible for a player to be wrongly accused and then get screwed out of X number of games. It clearly is unjust. As for Taylor coming back, I am very happy to hear that. Reportedly he has been practicing with the team so I expect him to get solid minutes against Golden State on Wednesday. And quite frankly we REALLY need his scoring these days! Having him ready to go before the big road swing in the west is huge! I dont think we could have beaten Dallas with Taylor in the lineup but perhaps we would have beaten Toronto. So all things considered Taylor being gone didn't hurt us too much except for the Toronto loss. Glad your back Mo!
Hopefully Torraye can get Mo up to speed on post-positioning and rebounding. Hopefully, Mo is fully healed after this ordeal and will play like he has something to prove. (and I think my mom took Vitriol for her menopause)
oh please. the only person it is obvious to is you and the few hardheads around here who hate to admit they were wrong. read the article referenced above and then go back to Jeff's post and re-read that. It is obvious that it was prescription drug problems related to his injury to everyone without an agenda. and the reason for noone telling any details has nothing to do with what the problem was...it is a matter of policy for the league and the team/player to not go into details. that has been established thruout this episode, whenever you saw a quote from the team/player or league officials, they all said they could not go into details about it.
According to what I've read and heard on the radio this morning, the NBA has reimbursed MoT for the salary he lost because of the suspension. To me, that sounds like as much of an apology for a procedural screw-up as one will ever get from a league like the NBA.
But, if you adopt a system like baseball's you wind up with situations like what happened this summer with Sammy Sosa. The guy got caught red-handed cheating with a corked bat but was allowed to play while his "appeal" was being heard. The whole affair stunk to high heaven and left an even more sour taste in my mouth for baseball (thanks to the Lastros). As for being wrongly accused, as far Taylor is concerned at no time did I believe him to be so. I was of the opinion that he did do something wrong because that's been his history since coming here. But I was NOT one of the folks speculating that he was back on the chronic because if he'd been THAT stupid he should have been cut immediately. I must confess that I'm simply not a MoTaylor fan - I just don't care that much for his game. To me, He brings so little for being paid so much that I am mostly indifferent to his return.
Yes, he got his money back for the games, so I consider him fully vindicated at this point. It was the Rockets who screwed up, apparently, giving him a banned substance for his shoulder.
It's good to have him back and I appreciate the NBA's acceptance of responsibility since they were wrong and they are giving Mo T his money back for the missed games. Shows maturity.
I guess it's he's saying it's his responsibility to know what substance is legal, even if his doctor gives it to him. That's the only explanation I can think of.
It's good to have hime back. Even more so now that everyone is tired from 4 games in 5 days. Having MoT back nice and fresh will be great. I just wonder what roster move is going to be made. Any chance they'd activate Ben Davis and cut him to leave room for Alton Ford at least on the injured list? (Can anyone say "Plantar Facitis [sp?]")
Great news! It was obvious that he was working hard and losing weight, plus his last game before the "suspension" was his best of the year. He's going to give us some much needed offense off the bench.
I hope he will play even harder now that this is over with, and I hope we will never hear anything troubling in the direction of suspensions, be it for weed or whatever else, about Mo Taylor again. Good luck, Mo, and GO ROCKETS!
