How about a small trade with Indiana:
    Mo Taylor (PF)
    for
    Austin Croshere (PF)

Both these players need a change in scenery. They both have the same length of contract. Croshre's game complement the the Rockets style of play(INSIDE/OUT).

he would be a nice compliment at the 3. but it would leave us thin up front.

we ae better off tradng rice to the jazz. that way we either get AK, MH, or jst cap space to match posey.

    BWAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

No thanks. Austin got exposed as a white stiff who played well for a contract in one year and the playoffs.

I expect Van Gundy to be able to do a lot more with Mo Taylor than he could with Croshere. Mo can shoot, use his body to get off that baby hook in the paint, and should also be a good option for a post-entry passer and the two-man game with his range. His only real weakness is rebounding.

I don't know. I always liked Austin Croshere. He just found himself with an injury (leg injury?) and also as White Man Out on a team overstocked at 3's and 4's and a new coach in Isiah Thomas. He would probably fit in well for our team, but Eddie Griffin is too slight for full-time duty at the 4, so....

Why would the trade be proposed?? Croshere is trash and Taylor is worth much more than him. No to this one.

I think MoT will surprise his many critics this year now that he isn't coming off a major injury and he has a coach who isn't afraid to kick his ass. He was really coming on strong towards the end of last season. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

How about Kelvin Cato for Jonathan Bender and Jeff Foster?

Pacers are VERY deep at the 2/3 positions, but have only Foster and Pollard at C. Pollard is actually a PF and if Foster was fit to start, they wouldn't have acquired Brad Miller in the first place. Jonathan Bender would fit our need for a SF and a change of scenery may bring out the best in him. Very athletic, decent rebounding, has the frame to be a dominant defensive player. Foster becomes the backup C.

    Thoughts on this?

    Yao/Foster
    MoT/Griffin
    Bender/Rice/Boki
    Mobley/Pike
    Francis/Moochie

    Pollard/Cato
    O'Neal/Harrington
    Artest/Harrington
    Miller/Artest/Fred Jones
Tinsley/I don't know I think Brewer or Jones

Hell no on the Croshere--Mo trade, they would at least have to throw in a #1 and a #2 to get us to take Croshere. Plus the Pacers already have a log jam at the 4.

Cato for Bender & Foster--that I might go for. Pretty interesting trade.

How about Harrington, Croshere & Foster for Mo and Cato? I think I like this one even better.

As crazy as this trade sounds it might actually work. The Pacers would keep hold of one of the top seeds in the east if they could add a decent center in Cato. Foster is simply a throw in but trading Bender would be an acknowledgement that they have failed. I don't see them doing this after giving so much up for the chance to pick him. He has done absolutely nothing and has looked like an utter bust at times but the Rockets are one of the few teams for which he would be an upgrade.

Didn't Artest go to the Spurs in the B. Miller deal?

I'd do it. Talentwise....Pacers get less.....but it really doesn't matter. Bender doesn't really play that much and Foster is like the 12th man or injured list guy.....Cato...I can part with him and his 12 minutes of excitement. I would miss him though.

When does Bender's and Foster's contract end?

At small forward though...I don't know...Bender really can't shoot. Our defense would be tall and long though.

    And about the original trade......."BWAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

I think the reason the Pacers would do this is to assure O'Neal he won't play any C, and because Pollard can't possibly be a full time C. I think a C combo of Pollard and Cato can be amazing for them.

Bender is basically on a team with too many SF's, and they won't want to pony up the dough for him anymore.

Foster can play the 10 minutes behind Yao, and Bender becomes our SF. I would be worried about Bender's lack of shooting, but I believe Pike, Rice, Boki and to a certain extent Mobley can make up for it. A frontline of Yao, a hopefully bulked up Griffin, and Jonathan bender would be defensively dominant IMO.

We lose a hot commodity in Cato, but we gain a starter at SF. Even after this trade, we can make more trades because we won't have traded our main trade bait - Griffin, Rice, & Mobley.

Pacers still have Artest and Harrington at SF as well as Croshere. At C, they surely improve. This actually helps them free up minutes for their SF's while also gaining insurance and depth - Don't forget that Pollard is coming off a 6 month layoff.

croshere is a very bad player. i can't believe how he completely disappeared after the big contract. i guess the rockets are not the only team to take on bad contracts.

ALL of these pacer purposals are decent and I would do any of them..........................

except MO for Croshere............we get totally raped on that one. no matter how much you hate MO, you can't deny the fact that he can score in this league........that is a fact

He's still a player who is a guaranteed 15 to18 points a night, Croshere on the other hand.............??????????????

i'd rather cato for al harrington straight up and sign a guy like charles oakley or shawn kemp or some other washed up big man that can give you 15 minutes a game to play back up center.

it's crazy to me to see it proposed we pick up jonathan bender as much as people talk about how eddie griffin is a bust.

Indiana has no p/t for AC, where will they get any for MoT?

They'd do Cato in a New York Minute, but NO thanks.

BTW - I think Croshere would fit on this squad, but I don't care that it'll not happen.
