Is THAT what they're talking about?? For a minute there, I thought I had clicked on the wrong BBS. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

Try again, but this time think of the last 3 books as philsophical and social discussion rather than science fiction.

    So I'm a sci-fi geek...shoot me :p

Not only did I make it thru more than 5 chapters of Dune, I have read all 6 books in the original series...and am starting on the prequels that Herbert's son just released recently.

sorry, I know return you to the original intent of the thread...Chick pics! :D

Yeah....kinda reminds me of the D&D conversations from high school...

"Man, that test was harder than the fight against that Chimera we had last night!"

"Yeah, I know...'vulnerable to lightning spells' my ASS!"

"What the hell are you two dorks talking about?"

I've read all of them. Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson are doing an excellent job. "The Butlerian Jihad" goes WAY back as a prequel. I think another of the same period will follow.

Uh, to stay on topic, Serena looks like a creation of the Tleilaxu... too amazing physically to be natural!

How did this turn into a Dune discussion?

Maybe Serena uses Bene Gesserit powers to excel in tennis. Or perhaps an Ixian racquet. :)

The Dune thing was my fault(kinda)...

    Deckard,

    random thought:
Does anyone else find it funny that melange is basically sandworm excrement? Long life indeed...

Yes, they're really good. It's cool to see the background of Dune brought to life... things you wondered about explained. I'm going to have to read Dune again soon to see if it reads a little different.

I heard Serena is a big fan. :p

Is Honey shat or vomitted by bees? Musk is milked from the genitals of a musk deer.

RE: Serena. I prefer a soft bodied gal. The thought of lying on top of cut granite isn't appealing even after I'm dead.

I found that Miles Teg's ability to move faster than could be seen was a trait that should have been bred, not feared by the Bene Gesserit. But maybe that happens in Chapterhouse, and I just don't remember.

Is that really supposed to make them more readable? Yikes.

Perhaps if that doesn't work, one can consider them a Maytag maintainance manual, or a detailed analysis of ancient Etruscan toenail cleaning implements.
