It doesn't work! I popped it in and my controllers (both of which are dual-shocks) will do nothing. God, nothing sucks worse than getting a new game and then finding out it doesn't work. I tried every single one of my other games and they work just fine.

My controller wouldn't work either and it's a dual shock. I plugged in the old controller that came with the system and it worked fine. I guess my controller works after all, there is just some kind of conflict with the game and the dual shock controller

All that high tech mumbo jumbo is ok...but can you play the Japanese Allstars?...Oh, Sakagawa...those b****es could hit! Baseball Stars (Nintendo)!!! Sasuke had a nasty curve too...those were the days.

Far as I'm concerned, Baseball Stars was and will remain the best game ever!!!

I loved it so much that's why I'm a MLB GM. Well really, I'm an accountant, but I have a giraffe (?) out on my farm, and he's really cool, you guys should come out and see him.

**Edit: Ok, I do have an X-box and am looking at MVP. I'll just create "Oh" and bury him at indefinitely at AA for all the punishment he dished out on a young lad.

really... i sent a tech support email to EA Sports. You might want to do the same. On the back of the booklet there is a website for it. Just go to it, type in the question, fill out some info so they can reply to you and they'll answer back within 24 hours.

HOw about going back to the store and telling them of the problem. Bring your system if you want to show them.

Depending on where you bought it, they would give you another copy etc. to see if that would make it work.

I am going to pick up my copy tomorow, I was trying to decide which game to choose. AllstarBaseball 2005, or MVP 2004. Since MVP 2004 comes out conveniently (right before spring break) I think I will get that. It sounds cool. I don't know if I could do the meter thing on every pitch.

Good idea, i think i'll take my system up there tomorrow.

You'll get used to the pitching meter. It makes the pitching a little more challenges which is great. It took me a game and a half to get used to it and now i'm doing good.

bought my copy this afternoon for x-box.

i never played last years mvp but i had bought the previous 2 sega games and thought i'd change a little. haven't gotten into franchise mode yet(still working on finishing ninja gaiden) but i LOVE the gameplay so far. with the power/accuracy meter you have full control with your pitches which i love. my favorite part of any baseball game is striking somebody out and if you really juice it up the controller shakes when the the ball pops the glove. also the total control hitting or whatever it's called is alot more realistic than the little circle overlay. so far i'm glad i bought it, the graphics aren't as pretty world series/espn from even 2 years ago but i think the gameplay is close to high heat quality.

I found out it was the legacy (PS1 dual shocks) that do not work with the game. I had to go and buy a real PS2 controller, even though my regular controllers work just fine with every other game I have.

damn, i was afraid that was the problem. The controller i use is a Sony Dual Shock Controller made for ps1.

How much did it cost you to get a real PS2 controller?

alright, I went to Blockbuster first to see how the game was. (before I purchase it)

I can't seem to understand the pitching meter. My guess is you choose the pitch, then hold and release when it reaches the red part for power, and then press it when it comes back to the green for accuracy? Is this right?

EDIT: Nevermind, just checked out the MVP tips. The video showed it all to me.

One more question though. What does the red and blue in the box mean? I am guessing red is not where I want to pitch...

Your Blockbuster already has it? Most rental places don;t get games until Friday.

How does the Astros roster look? Is everyone there?

Is there a roster update online yet?

Yeah your right. The red zone is the hitters hot zone and the blue is their cold zone.

One option you might want to change is the "Ball Fade". The ball would fade away too quick when i was trying to position my pitch so i took it off completely.

Yep, I am in College Station, Tx and they had it. there was one copy, and I got it. I got my april PSM magazine the other day and it had a coupon for rent one get on free, so it made the trip that much sweeter. Now It's time to see if I can go with out the late fees....for once.

JPM0016 : Thanks, I was unsure if I was correct.

So far so good, this game is pretty damn fun. Still haven't had a homerun yet. After a 2hr break, I am back at it now.

bobmarley..........you finished a season already?! DAMN!
