Another dumb thought to throw out:

    I've always wondered. What if. . .

in 1984, after the Rockets drafted Akeem, they decided they didn't need TWO franchise centers. So they traded Ralph Player-of-the-century Sampson to Portland for the not yet developed native houstonian Clyde Drexler and Portland's No. 2 pick, which the Rockets used to get an athletic guard named Michael from Dean Smith's Tar Heels. Meanwhile, Chicago congratulated themselves for their luck that the coveted Sam Bowie was still available at the No. 3 spot. . .

In the hindsight, that senario makes perfect sense, even if they didn't know how good MJ would turn out. Why would they want two dominating big men? The concept of "twin towers" was one of the dumbest ideas in basketball. Two dominating big men playing inside together being equally productive? It never happened, never will.

Yeah, the Spurs won a championship with two big men, but when Duncan came into his own, David Robinson wasn't the all-star center he used to be. Robinson playing alongside Duncan was like Sampson playing alongside the Dream. The Rockets should have traded Sampson for a super-talented peremeter player. I am sure Portland would gladly give up Drexler and their pick for Sampson.

Think about it. Dream, Air, and Glide on the same team for 15 plus years. What a dynasty that would be! Move over, Red Auerbach.:D :

MJ is too old. I dont think Rockets should get him. Rockets should be a young team and get rid of those old players. Wilt, i dont know how he can get 100 points in a game. That gotta be a bs man. Yao Ming's #2 fan

Sorry... but sometimes I feel like the only person in the world who doesn't think MJ is god. Sorry, but I'm just not a fan.

It's safe to assume this isn't Ahmad Rashad posting.
