Anyone seen this? i plan to this weekend. i heard it was awesome. ... rave critics reviews and from others that have seen it... if anyone here has post your comments.
Saw it last night and it's pretty good. They do a good job of weaving in special effects, a good story, and that old sci-fi twilight zone feel. A definite thumbs up.
It was a really good movie. I was skeptical w/ Spielberg being involved, but after the rave reviews I went for it. The very last couple of scenes he still beats us over the head a little too much but he doesn't screw it up as much as he could have. He actually lets us figure most of the movie out on our own and trusts us to pick up on things w/o over explaining them w/ pointless dialogue and whatnot. Definitely worth seeing.
Man that movie was pretty good, I expected it to be so-so and I was impressed. -Good Story -Great Effects There were a few slow spots, but overall it was a pretty exciting movie. I would recommend it. 4/5 stars. Spielberg tries to hard to get his message across sometimes though. Edit: I forgot to say that there were two good previews- 1. Red Dragon - prequel to The Silence of the Lambs. Ed Norton, Anthony Hopkins, Ralph Fiennes, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Harvey Keitel, looks good. 2. Signs - M. Night Shyamalan's new movie starring Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix (gladiator) - I had seen previews/trailers before of this movie but this preview really drew me in, looks pretty sweet. The old previews were just about Crop Circles, this one leads you to believe that Aliens(monsters) are on Earth and about to attack or something, really interesting.
I thought it was pretty good, though not as excellent as many reviewers did. It was good as an action movie, but I thought it was a tad bit pretentious. I mean, the questions they were asking were profound, but not all that complicated. And I'm not really sure if the plot necessitated a particular course of action. And perhaps I'm just dense, but I hated the way that the mystery was pretty much impossible for the audience to solve. I always enjoy a puzzler... but I like to be able to solve it. I don't requre that I *will*... just that I could. Excellent acting, though. Some of the aspects of their predictions about the future were cool, too.
I thought it was pretty good. Unfortunately, the sound went out during the important greenhouse conversation, so i'm not sure what was said. Could someone enlighten me? Of course there were some paradoxes that seem to occur in all movies related to time travel and the like, but overrall it was a good movie. If anyone wants to tell me what was said in the greenhouse please mark your post with a spoiler alert so we dont ruin anything for anyone. Thanks.
Exactly It was good . .. but had some elements that were problemed like their were some missing parts of the puzzled. Rocket River
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER Just that the three precogs don't always agree and the descenting opinion is called the Minority Report. The Minority report is then erased so that no one can show doubt in precrime. The Minority Report always belongs to the most gifted...Agatha and that it is stored in her brain. End of Spoiler
Was it to neat for you? I kinda felt the same... It was the slowest part of the movie and the bald chick grew hair too fast! (or was it hidden under the head gear in the pool?)
Maybe she rubbed in some Miracle-Gro when we weren't looking? I liked it a lot, what with a great story, acting, and effects. My only problem is that I guessed who the real bad guy is, and (SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER) he announced his bad-ness in a way that seemed lifted from L.A. Confidential (and, unfortunately, I imagined the scene would play out like that). But a summer movie with a brain is nice.
hey guys, i went to see this movie today and i had to leave right before the VERRRY end...(i think the exciting part happened) but i didnt get to find out what happened to tom cruise after everything went down. could someone send me an e mail letting me know what happened? sup3r_d0rk@yahoo.com thanks.
Was it? Or was the beginning just so damn good that it made it seem like the ending was absolutely horrible, because you expected more? I agree that the ending was not as great as the rest of the movie, but "absolutely horrible?" Man, tough critic.
That's a great point DCKid. I remember about halfway through the movie thinking what a great movie it was. Your theory may be correct. Wink, yeah, that's a little bit of my problem, the others being stuff I don't want to spoil for other people.
So it did suck. The ending to me is very very important. I felt the same way with the movie insombia(sp), the first 1/4 of the movie was good and the rest sucked.
Movie was much better than I expected. Pretty good overall. I didn't think the ending was bad, though, obviously, we can't argue about it here. I kinda got the feeling that Philip Dick's ending was good and Spielberg tried to 'augment' it -- though I'd have to read Dick's story to confirm. Carlito, I won't risk advising you to see it, because I can see why people object to the ending. I think I initially felt the same immediately after the movie. And be warned, I also thought Insomnia was great.
