Man, Reggie Miller came back from his injury and he's showing why he's a legend. He's trying hard to carry these young guys throught the hard stretch... In his first 2 games back the old man's stats are pretty nice! Game 1: 23 Points 8-12 FG's 4-6 3P's 32 Minutes Game 2: 32 Points 11-18 FG's 4-7 3P's 39 Minutes Like I said, not bad! Not bad at all!
Reggie has always been my favorite non-Rocket of all time. I wish I would've seen these games...it's been a while since he's been a top option in the offense.
19 points for Reggie in the 4th quarter alone. I'm pretty sure that you could count all of the 39-year-old guards who have scored 19 points in a 4th quarter on, at most, 2 fingers. I'm not comparing Reggie to Michael. Reggie is just a jump shooter these days. But... nobody can ever say he doesn't rise to the occasion. Tough loss, though. Tinsley is very important with the top 3 scorers suspended.
JVG doesn't know how to design effective screen plays on offense if his life depended on it. He'd never be able to free up Miller for his shots. Miller would only be shooting spot up threes in our offense.
his game at msg in which he scored a bunch in the last few seconds and took a bow has to be one of the most non rocket moments for me.
I've been such a Reggie w**** since about 1993-94. I loved watching this guy shoot the lights out every game I watched. I LOVED when he played against the Knicks. He is probably one of my top 3 players EVER, Rockets or not. He's in that elite group of favorite players of mine. Hakeem Jordan Reggie
Me too. '93-94 is when I first heard of Reggie Miller. I remember listening on the radio when he lit up the Knicks for 25 in the 4th quarter. He nailed 5 threes in the final period. Loved when he and Spike Lee would get into it. Then there was that 8-points in the last 20 seconds to win a game. Then he made that "choking" gesture against the Knicks (can't remember which game). Awesome. He was responsible for some of my favorite non-Rocket NBA moments.
It's a little bit odd seeing the respect for reggie on another teams' fan web site. I love the guy, but I'm a Pacer fan. Usually fans of other teams that I've met DISLIKE him because of the past trash-talking, giving the choke sign to New York, firing up the crowd by waving his skinny arms, and the constant complaining I hear about his flopping ability. I'm glad you all appreciate his flair for the dramatics, willingness to carry a team with only a jumpshot, desire to take the clutch shot, shooting percentage, efficiency, leadership, and even the fact that he is a an articulate team spokesman in front of the TV cameras. Maybe as he's aged, he's getting more sympathy too, for how hard he works to keep in the game and for gracefully adapting to a lesser role.
i do not like him because of his talking and his flopping(always complaining hat he is fouled). But you just have to respect the guy for his unbelievable ability to hit any clutch shot. And he always works hard. he is one of the most clutch players in the nba history
Three point shooting knows no age. Killer Miller can light them up with the best of them and has a skill that is less and less common (a real shooter versus someone who chucks from behind the arc) in today's NBA. He's a legend, a future Hall of Famer and it's nice to see him playing and playing well at 39 years young.
