    sometimes rookies always start out well. Remember Hunter Pence and Luke Scott for us?

    Trout is going to be an all star for years but once pitchers learn his weaknesses he'll have a harder time.

    Edit: BTW, Tim Salmon was BA Minor League Player of the Year, just like Mike Trout, and also won Rookie of the Year.

    Salmon was an excellent player but I think Trout is looking to be more than that, especially with the speed that he shows.

    ARLINGTON, Texas -- Angels center fielder Mike Trout has become the first major league rookie ever with 30 home runs and 40 stolen bases.

    Trout hit his 30th homer Sunday, a two-out solo shot in the seventh inning at Texas off Yu Darvish.

    The 21-year-old Trout had a leadoff walk to start the game, then quickly got his 48th stolen base.

    Only two players in the majors ever have had 30 homers and 50 stolen bases in a single season -- Eric Davis in 1987 and Barry Bonds in 1990.

    The Angels have four games left in the regular season, including the second game of Sunday's day-night doubleheader against the AL West-leading Rangers.

    Trout homered in the seventh inning Sunday.

    Whos the last rookie to win MVP in NHL,NBA,MLB,and NFL

    cant have happened too many times

    i would vote for Trout, gaudy numbers for a first year player

    I love me some Mike Trout!! I wish so much that the Angels and Rays get in the playoffs, but it doesn't look like it is going to happen. Stupid Oakland and Baltimore...:rolleyes:

    went to the rangers vs angels game n saw Trout in person. Just an amazing player espically for being a rookie.
