    Dude is off the hook...

"I never questioned the handling of the (A&M) players in any way and have always expressed the utmost respect for their coaching staff," Leach told The Avalanche-Journal.

"I’ve always said that it is truly exciting to play Texas A&M - the quality of coaches they have, the great team and great tradition and, above all, the quality of players they have," Leach continued. "I’ve always known A&M had great players. The fact that they have the luxury to put a third- or fourth-round draft pick on the bench, to me, identifies what a truly great team they are.

"It’s an honor for us at Texas Tech to have the opportunity to play them. There are numerous players on our team that will never get a look or play a down in the NFL, so you can imagine how exciting it is for me and them to go play a team the magnitude of Texas A&M and look over there on the bench and see third- and fourth-round draft picks."

Leach is losing it. I think he realized he let his window of opportunity shut. They won't be getting back to being a top 5 team again any time soon. Back to mediocrity for ole' Tech.

There's a difference between top 5 and mediocrity. The program probably won't have a dream season, but they definitely are capable of being a consistent top-15 type team. Recruiting and defense both seem to be improving over time.

As for the original post, Leach is the best quote machine in sports.

This is kindergarten talk for Leach, if this is him losing it, he must have been gone for the past few years.. :) Leach and his receipt list of plays always cracks me up.

If i'm not mistaken, Tech doesn't exactly have the best rep when it comes to producing good offensive NFL talent....whoops, forgot about Wes Welker there!

I don't know how anybody can think this is cool. Maybe Sherman shouldn't have said anything, but Leach dragged A&M into the spiral of his hissy fit about how his players faired in the draft. So now he's firing back at them because they were standing up for themselves.

He's not saying that Tech is better at producing NFL talent.

I don't understand why he tries to protect that system as having any kind of NFL value. The NFL took chances on his QBs before and none of them worked out. Harrell will also have his chance, he won't work out. I like his humor though.

I heard that TT is about to win the all time head to head record with A&M. I think in 2011 they could take over.

How pissed will A&M be if they have a losing record to TT. Should be a great game to watch when it happens.

    just looked it up....

The first time in which A&M met Tech was in 1927. The Aggies lead all-time 34-32-1 but trail 3-10 since the inception of the Big 12 Conference. The Aggies have not won in Lubbock since 1993.
