The Grizz will probably start Gooden and Gasol at the forwards which means Battier will probably start at the two-guard again.

They also traded for two-guard Wesley Person who had a pretty good year in Cleveland last season (15 ppg, 50% fg, 44% treys)

Maybe Jerry West will want to get out of Michael's 6 year, 45 million dollar contract.

He would be an expensive back-up for Cuttino but he would make an excellent 6th man for the Rockets.

Maybe they'll take Rice since his contract expires in 2004 while Michael's expires in 2008.

    Grizzlies
F: Drew Gooden + Glen Rice
    F: Pau Gasol + + Tony Massenburg
C: Lorenzen Wright + Stromile Swift
G: Jason Williams + Brevin Knight
G: Shane Battier + Wesley Person

    Rockets
F: Boki Nachbar + Kenny Thomas
F: Eddie Griffin + Maurice Taylor
C: Yao Ming + Kelvin Cato
G: Steve Francis + Moochie Norris
G: Cuttino Mobley + Michael Dickerson

There's something called cap flexibility. Just having it is precious.

I dunno if it's a good idea sinc Griffin, Ming and Francis all have big contracts coming up.

If we had Michael Dickerson I would start him instead of Cat. He's the better of the two in terms of all round game plus he doesn't bring that macho type of play. However, It does look like the Grizz will try to get rid of a couple 2 guards but I don't think the Rocks will be able to benefit off of that.

In Dickerson's best season (99-00) he averaged a lower field goal percentage, lower free throw percentage, less points, less rebounds, and identical assists to Mobley. He was injured for all but four games last season. Not a great starter.

We'll have Bird rights on all of them anyway.
Unless you're worried about the luxury tax.

Oh ya he doesn't. I recall an article or an interview quoting CD. Les basically allows the basketball people to do their thing. However, any decision that involves going beyond the luxury cap must get approval from Les. Any addition past that threshold costs double. Let me ask you a question. If you were a business owner, would you want to pay that tax?

The Dickerson trade idea is certainly interesting. I'd like to see what Rice is going to do this year. I just look at it this way. We could get a long term contributer as a backup with Dickerson or we could take a chance that Rice will regain some amount of form. I just keep remebering how good Rice was in Charlotte. It's hard for me to forget.

It really sucks the Rockets could not work out a draft day deal to get Lamar Odom, because I think he is going to be a very special player in this league for a long time. You people can say all you want about his past, but this guy is going to deliver. :(

    Give me Mike Redd

would KT+Mooch be enough to nab him?

Bucks need a backup PG and KT would probably start until Haslip is ready

    Just a thought...
