What college players look like a Rockets 2nd round draft pick (should we keep the pick)?

since i don't think we can address our pf situation as late in the draft as we will be, if Luke Walton slips far enough maybe we could somehow move up a few picks and get a three of the point forward mold.

It would be nice to have Bill Walton as a Rockets Homer.

Unfortunately, he would be a bench warmer, like Boki.

How about a Euro for later delivery? 'Stash' the pick 'til he matures and is ready to help the 'big club'.

Bill Walton is already a Rockets homer...he loves Hakeem and Yao...but finds a lack of ball movement very repugnant. :D

It doesn't matter who we draft, they're total season will be the Shaw Summer and/or the Rocky Mt. Review.

this should go in the Draft forum....

I think a good backup PG or just guard period would be great. Don't know how realistic it is to find a good backup guard in the second round. Thoughts on Steve Blake? Probably doesn't give us anything that Maddox doesn't, except another Maryland player.

    Exactly...

Can you imagine when Bill covers the Rox game on ESPN...

"Well, the Rockets have a quality player in my son, and if they didn't intent to use him, then why pick him and waste his talent"...

    I can see it now...

NBADraft has our first round pick being used to select Nick Collison (doh!) and our second round pick to nab Kevin Johnson out of Tulsa (6'8", 222lb PF)

It cracks me up the way/amount Bill uses the word "what":

    What Poise!
    What Patience!
    What a rebound!
    What defense!

    What a jack ass...

    Hollis Price
Played PG 1st 2 years at OU and average 4.7 assists his 2nd year before becoming a SG in name.

Why he's in second round: Plays like a SG and small for a PG.

    Jason Kapono
    May already have 3pt range.

Why he's in second round: Plays defense by allowing two pointers while he's making three pointers.

    Chris Marcus
At worst, he doesn't make team. At best, he should be excellent trade bait for an East team in two years.

Why he's in second round: May never play.

man this team could really use a James Thomas type of player. you know to kind of offset Yao's more passive moments of play.

I wish, but no team will trade for them unless its to give up cap albatrosses, and even then you'd have to add in maybe one more player.

I've only really like about 4 or 5 players in this years draft. (Thats if T.J comes out but doubt it)

    1. Lebron James
    2. Carmelo Anthony
    3. T.J. Ford
    4. Dwayne Wade
    5. Luke Walton (seems like he could fit on our team)

im thinking the Rockets should trade up to get Luke Ridnour. He's smooth and undercontrol and seems to have great vision. The Rockets need a point guard like that.

I couldnt agree with you more, unfortunatly the Rockets have to first think of a way to keep their own pic before trading up.
(do I hear a Moochie or Cat for picks coming up?...:D :D )
