Don't know if this has been posted yet... But I usually place a call to my friend at the Fox Sports.net for (work related situations) and he gives me the info that Finley is very, very close to signing with the Heat. He usually has a good pipeline. Like I said, I don't know if I am late in hearing about it since I don't call to get scoops at this time of year. I think I have read that some on the BBS thought he would be a good fit for the Rocks. Thats why I posted here instead of NBA forum. If I am in the wrong 'hood or this has been posted already, my bad and my apologies.
We got DA so we don't care too much about Finley. It's pretty obvious he would be going to the Heat. He will have the best chance for a Championship....this belongs in the NBA forum now.
Detroit has reached a deal with Dale Davis on a 2 year contract, which removes them from the Finley sweepstakes. This should have been posted on the NBA Forum so one of the administrators will move it.
You need to spend one week away from the BBS for overzealous policing. One of the administrators will see to it.
Interesting that they signed Dale Davis. This could mean: 1) Rockets are in fact doing a sign and trade for Spree 2) Pistons are trading the Wallace boys for KG Or it could mean nothing at all.
I dont think you would trade the Wallaces and go with a 36 or however old he is Dale Davis. At this point in his career, Davis would be most effective playing a role similar to Mutombo, coming off the bench and giving one of them a rest for a few minutes or when they get in foul trouble.
I wish Finley would make up his mind, he is holding up a lot of teams and players from making deals. I just hope he decides to sign in the east, if he goes to the Suns, they have salvaged their off-season. And worse, if SA gets him the rich just got richer.
Because we pretty much had no chance at Finley. And if that report that he was in town talking to Cd was correct, we did go after him, but he had better offers elsewhere.
I haven't seen Derek Anderson lately, but what he can do when healthy is 100x better than what Finley's right now.
... but the same was true for Derek Anderson. They both got their big money from the teams that released them. I can't blame Finley for going with Detroit or Miami; they were EC finals competitors next year. The Heat will rise. Detroit may slide without LBrown. Both will be in the hunt.
Finley going to Miami and Detroit signing Davis doesnt make Spreewell coming here a for sure thing. Detroit only signed Davis with half the MLE because they have an offer sheet with Spree for the other half.
