Man, this one is excellent. http://washingtonpost.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+FTContentServer?articleid=A61297-2000Jun15&pagename=article "But with the game on the line in the final six seconds of overtime, Bird went with the 5-foot-10 Best. And his decision was to try to shoot over the 7-2 O'Neal. You have your reserve point guard shooting over the league's MVP with the season on the line, while Miller stands idle? There's only one word to describe this strategy: Stupid. I'm sorry, there's another: Moronic." Stupid! Moronic! LOL!
Will , No offense man but you'd better watch how you word you posts . I took one look at your topic and i said "Ok this better not be what i think it is !" Or is it just my sick mind? ------------------ Will Work for Clutch 101 Book
Right Moe! I saw the topic and wondered, "Is there something about Will we don't know??" Anyhow, not only did Best hog the ball, he put it up with too much time left on the clock, giving the Lakers a chance to ice it if I remember correctly. ------------------ We need some meat in the post!
Uh . . . no. I have no inside information on the shape of Mr. Wilbon's inseam. Just pointing out that he describes Best's shot over Shaq, with Miller idle, at the end of OT. Oops! That was at the end of regulation. At the end of OT, Shaq was on the bench, and Miller was taking the shot.
I have no probs with Best having the ball, but why not try and take Shaq on and blow by with the dribble using his obvious speed advantage and get the series saving lay-up. ------------------ CUT Tino Isn't it amazing how quickly everyone did a Cat Backflip!!!!!
I could be wrong here, but I doubt if Bird called that play. It may have been a broken play or Best decided to take it into his own hands and be the hero! ------------------ HOOP-T Hey Shaq, Acme called, and they want their bricks back!
