Does he remind you guys of Andre Johnson??? I think they are very comparable. Big build, speed, strong hands. I think he is gonna be the next Andre.
I always think it is interesting when people claim a receiver is a better route runner than another. Is that just based on what you have read from experts? Most of the time, the TV camera doesn't capture enough of a receiver's route to really judge. When the play goes at the receiver, they will sometimes show the overhead so you can see his entire route, but they don't show every play like that so it is nearly impossible to judge from your own observations (unless you go to every game and notice this yourself. And that doesn't even really take into account that none of us really know exactly what route the receiver was to run. Often times, the "experts" don't either. They're not in the huddles or at practice.
I can't wait till Texans season. I'm calling 10-6, 11-5 if we don't turn it over as much. One good thing about the schedule is, we get New England the last game of the year. I think they will have already clinched by then..
Any comparisons to AJ I think are unfair. AJ was the best WR in football last year. He is a total freak. Crabtree is said to be a good route runner because of the offense they ran. Whenever he is drafted he will be the highest paid WR in the NFL. Sucks.
I think Crabtree is good, but I really and truly do believe he is overrated. I think he runs like 4.6 and I think that hes the next Charles Rogers
Running routes is more about knowing the play book. The reason it usually takes rookie receiver 3 years to become a complete receiver is because he usually goes from a free-wheeling offense where he runs maybe 10-15 different routes as the Z receiver to an NFL playbook where he might be playing split end, flanker, or slot on any given down. Crabtree is coming off like an immature punk lately, and lately I'm starting to hope we don't pick him even though we could probably use him.
Larry Fitzgerald was the best WR in football last year, sorry to bust your homer bubble. He's more consistent and was simply amazing in the playoffs where it mattered.
Actually can can make a good argurment either way Fitzgerald or AJ being the best reciever in the league. Fitzgerlad has more weapons around him and team is in the NFC a weaker conference so he was able to shine better in the playoffs. Fitz did put better numbers up last year and preform on the biggest stage in the game.
I don't really think this makes much sense. Anyway, I love Andre Johnson... I think he, Fitzgerald and now Calvin Johnson are the prototypical stud game-changing WRs in the league, but after what Fitz did in the playoffs I have to give him the edge right now as the numero uno.
Larry Fitzgerald was the best WR in the playoffs and not all of football...that would be Andre Johnson. I could be wrong but outside of the playoffs, I doubt you've even seen more than 2 or 3 Cards game top. To put up the numbers AJ did on this Texans offense while facing consistent double teams is a feat in itself. If he was on any other major city/team, he would have the same fan fare if not more. That's not being a homer, that's just the truth.
