Nah, he waved Barnes to come over, so he was planning on throwing in to him. The pass was just too early and it was a risky play.

I think everyone is over reacting...it's a smart play in the sense that no one expected him to throw it down there but he didn't throw it well and Barnes wasn't in good position. Not dumb, not smart, not good. But hey, they got the W.

 

What? That was a dumb play. Jason Smith could have got the layup. Hell, even Ron Artest knew it was a dumb play and instantly apologized with his gestures. You're the only person who's opining that it's not a dumb play.

 

The only time where Matt Barnes will come out looking like a genius.

It's a dumb play exactly because he didn't throw it well. You'd be right if it had worked out the way he intended it to, but it didn't.

Jason Smith's reaction was a bit slow though. He reacted way after Artest threw it in.

 

It took him a while to process the stupidity of what Artest was doing.
