oh no, not again.... I noticed that he hadn't been around for a while. I guess it was that last thread that degenerated into a stupid argument. Pops, don't let a few idiots keep you away... this bbs looks forward to your posts... it won't be the same without you.

Why is it always HP that gets people pissed off?

    :D

Pops, come on, don't be so sensitive, let it go.

The old timers that come here often truly appreciate your insights.

At least this old timer does.

I've been reading this BBS for about two years, now, and finally decided to register and get a nick. All of a sudden, Pops leaves. It's my fault. Sorry, y'all.

    Pops/Op,

The info and insight you share is one of the main reasons I enjoy this forum. Don't let the problems with your last posts keep you away. With today's world events we need as much hope and non-terrorist related info as possible to keep us sane. We need you Pops, c'mon back when you get a chance.

Need? Need who? Seems as though this board is still live and will be. Some people take stuff to serious. If he wants to take his ball inside, oh well. I still like enjoying others opinion just as well. So if he do or doesn't come back, f*** it I'll still sleep good and get up and read the post.

You are exactly right Dark Horse! I think a lot of the posts in this thread show how much difference one person can make on a board. Oeilpere was able to keep threads alive with his inside information and insight. Losing him will be a blow to the BBS, and yes, we will all survive and be okay, it just won't be the same. We all have different viewpoints about things, but very few of us have inside information. Hopefully he'll realize this and come back to the BBS. If not, maybe a new reliable source will appear? Either way I still think by far this is the best BBS for up to date info and analysis on the Rockets.

While this is certainly true, Darkhorse, it should not be true that one poster get preferential treatment over others. If oeilpere wants to make his posts containing the inside info, he has to be prepared to read speculation by others as to the likelihood of those very incidents he is reporting on. It is merely human nature to question and explore.

Whether it was OP's intention or not, I got the definite impression from his final thread that he didn't feel his report should be questioned at all and that he certainly was "taking his ball and going home." Fine, that is his decision. But I, like many others on this BBS, refuse to beg for his return simply because he couldn't take a little criticism, constructive or otherwise.

Hear ye’ hear ye’… I second that. I’ve been coming to this site for a while but only occasionally posting. The reason I come here is to get latest inside scoop on my favorite sport’s team. I also look for insightful opinions on my Rockets. And it has been my observation that no one does that better than Popeye/Oelipere. He gives scoops that are very informative and always seem to have merit. And he seems to have an understanding of the game that is as good as any on this site. He doesn’t claim to have all the answers. On the contrary when he is not as well versed as others on issues such as the CBA he is quick to acknowledge it. But for my dollar an Oelipere thread is as good as it gets.

And what bothers me, is not that others question his info. That is the whole point of this bbs I would think. An outlet to hear others opinions and scoops and voice your on opinions. But rather that some posters do it without much knowledge or forethought. They clearly are not privy to the same inside sources as Popeye. Nor do they have the same knowledge of the game. But you know what they say about opinions and a$$holes.

Oh for the record I thought Popeye was right on the money with his last post. Golden State was looking for viable alternatives in dealing with the Mark Jackson issue and NY was one of them. The fact that it didn’t happen doesn’t mean that the deal wasn’t on the table. And I still believe the warriors would jump on an opportunity to trade one of their big man for the right player and keep MJ. The problem is finding someone to give them that right player.

As for Oelipere taking a hiatus from this site. I understand if that’s what you choose to do for now. But I truly hope you come back. You are definitely a part of what makes this sight great. And what keeps many of us coming back.

Oh and I dread the thought of only having raven lunatics trying to fill the threads with with idiotic posts.

Oh PUUUULLLEEEEEEZZZZZZZEEEEEE...you guys act as if Steve Francis and Cat Mobley stopped posting and sharing their insight. Whats the big friggin deal about this guy? I mean, I know Im newer than many around here but spend 25 cents and buy a paper for christs sakes and you can read about the rumors/facts the next day. Unless you were using his info to make money, it really doesnt matter.....if you were, Ill supply an occasional horse tip at Belmont to ease the pain.

You are new. So you don't have the knowledge of past posts, but you are still entitled your opinion. :p

    Eh... no big deal...

Just holds claim on the single biggest scoop in the HISTORY of the BBS, not to mention about 5 or 6 of the 2nd tier big scoops that have come through here.

I consider my work at the RMR to be small change compared to popeyes contributions.

He sees a different angle because he's one of the few that can. I don't know if that calls for preferential treatment, but I hope everyone that is still pissy about the whole thing is happy with themselves.

    :)

    But really -> :(
