    Battier can play the 4.

When the Rox are on the offensive end, he'll force the paint to open up because he can play on the perimeter. That will take most 4s out of their defensive game.

On the defensive end, I believe he can match with a 4 to at least prevent them from an explosive game. If you're really having trouble, then put TMac on them.

Think about the other teams.. think about what 4s we would actually have to worry about.. KG, Dirk, Brand, Duncan.. with Yao, Tmac, and Battier, we have an answer.

Battier at the 4 forces bigs to float around the perimeter, which leaves things open for TMac and Yao working inside. On defense, we can pick who wants to take defending the 4 as most 4s can be guarded by Yao, Tmac, or Battier.

I think we can really make the zone defense work too with our lineup. Assuming we have James, we have a backcourt quick enough to guard the perimeter and a very respectable frontcourt to patrol the paint.

All that said, still wouldn't mind picking up a backup forward-center :D

Someone is going to give Wells a huge contract at 8+ million per year. He averaged something like 23 pts, 12 rebounds at 60% from the field during the playoffs against San Antonio. Just amazing numbers.

Most likely we won't be able to sign him. :(

I'm pretty sure Sacramento is the only team that could give him that kind of money that might be interested. I just can't imagine any of the cellar dweller teams with room under the cap using it to sign Bonzi Wells. He's a great piece to add to a team in contention, but I wouldn't want him to be my teams star player.

I would love to get Wright. It will be very hard to get Bonzi with the MLE much less the 4.2 TE. All you posters on other threads stop the Howard Trade posts. There are only a few teams that would take Howard. Those teams would give us a worse contract in return (Darius Miles). If there are no 4's (or Bonzi) in FA, then we may want to look at a backup for Yao. With all of our injuries, Coach never played Deke. He is 40 going on medicare. I love Deke, and he has been a big help to us in the past. However, this is going to be his last year. We either take a backup now or have to take a center next year.
