Our local McDonalds has a "school night" at which they donate part of their revenue to the elementary school. I usually do one of the salads, but I dig the McRib when it is available...

BK has the best burgers. I believe they flame broil their burgers. Try the swiss mushroom steak burger, it's so awesome it has some fried onions inside too.

I am not the biggest fast food fan but McRib has always been good.

    Product description

The McRib consists of a boneless pork patty, barbecue sauce, onions and pickles served on a 6 inch (15.2 cm) roll. The patty is precooked, frozen and later reheated. When served, the patty is covered with sauce.

    History
When first introduced, packets of special McRib barbecue sauce called "Blazin' Hot Sauce" were available with the sandwich. This sauce was much hotter than the barbecue sauce on the prepared sandwich and was only available for a short time. When the McRib was brought back as a "specialty" sandwich the sesame seed roll was often replaced with a standard hamburger bun; this was sometimes called the McRib Jr.

The sandwich test-marketed very well in Nebraska and other Midwestern markets and was added to the restaurant's permanent menu throughout the United States in 1981.[1] Sales were mediocre,[citation needed] and it was removed after several years, only to be brought back as a limited time offering.

Officials at McDonald's, in a 1985 stockholder meeting,[citation needed] mentioned that The McRib was pulled because the McRib could not sustain international sales, as there were many countries in which pork is not regularly eaten. Germany was cited as an example, but the U.S. and certain Asia Pacific countries were not. The strategy announced at that time would be that the McRib would be brought back periodically as a "specialty" sandwich since it definitely increased sales during a promotional period before receding.

On November 1, 2005, McDonald's put out a press release stating that the McRib would be permanently removed from the menu following a "McRib Farewell Tour." This appears to have been a deceptive kickoff to a viral/stealth marketing campaign;[citation needed] mcrib.com, a site registered to McDonald's, featured a petition to "Save the McRib," which was facetiously sponsored by the "Boneless Pig Farmers Association of America." So in a two-angled campaign, McDonald's was simultaneously conducting a McRib farewell tour and sponsoring a petition to "Save the McRib" to create buzz. On October 16, 2006, the "McRib Farewell Tour II" site appeared, confirming the campaign was a marketing ploy. The petition to "Save the McRib" still existed as well as the "BPFAA" site.

McDonald's brought back the McRib once again in October 2007, beginning the third farewell tour. McRibs can be found in selected areas of New York, Ohio, Missouri, Iowa, Arkansas, New Mexico (Albuquerque and Las Cruces, but not Santa Fe) and Florida as well as the Greater Chicago area.[citation needed]

The McRib remains on sale as a regular item in Germany. (Lucky)

Recently, McDonalds is planning on bringing the sandwich back The website features music sponsored by a "McRib DJ." It appears the McRib has returned for a limited time only.

McDonalds in Hong Kong introduced McRib on 18 September 2008. McDonalds in Japan will offer the McRib as well as a special Double-McRib in October 2008.(GTFO, I want this)

YOU: Proof you haven't tried bk swiss mushroom steak burger.

I hate when people try to talk about something they haven't even experienced. Just don't even comment, is that too hard?

I think people found it amusing that you basically quoted a typical Burger King commercial.

I don't want to touch the mcRib. I can only imagine the processed meats that go into that thing.

I can't think of anything better to eat before going to a gun show. I'll make sure some of the BBQ sauce drips down to my wife beater shirt, it's only fitting. YEEEEHAWWWWWW!!!!!

WORD. I had my first one (okay, second - I couldn't remember the first time I had it) but I didn't like it... at all. I don't see what the big deal is. It was actually kind of gross. I'll stick to their chicken nuggets thank you very much.

BBQ Chicken Strip from Whataburger FTW!
