What McNair did against the Steelers is quickly becoming a calling card. How many times has this guy pulled victory from the jaws of defeat? It seems to me that he's had quite a few 4th quarter comebacks. Can anybody put a finger on how many?

Maybe, but he has to pull a few more out of his hat to be in Elway's league when it comes to comebacks. A couple of Super Bowl wins would help also, but he has a few years left in him to accomplish that.

I have really been enjoying hating the Titans. I never thought that I could find a team that I could hate more than the Cowboys, but Bud did a marvelous job of helping me out.

It's a shame that some good players have to be caught in the middle of this feud between me and Bud, but that's the consequences of playing for a back-stabber and a liar.

I only wish that the Texans could be in the same division as the Titans. Now that would be a game everyone could get motivated for.

    SpaceCity,

The latest realignment plan I've seen had the Texans sharing a division with the Colts, Jaguars, and Titans, so you just may get your wish. However, unless those teams fall off in the coming years, that is an incredibly talented division. May be best for us not to get that division. Would you like 6 of your 16 games against those 3? Better hope they fall off, although the Jags do have salary cap problems around the corner I believe...

Yeah, we'll have to suck it up and take our share of beatings in the beginning. But it will all be worth it when we reach our desired level of competitiveness.

Anybody know what players will be available in 2002, and where the Texans will be in the draft? One good QB can change everything.

The Texans will have the #1 pick that year, and they do plan on getting a franchise QB from what I've read. The senior class that year is not that strong. However, Michael Vick and Chris Simms both will be through their junior year's of college, and with the lure of being a #1 draft pick (and for Simms staying in this area) could definitely bring them to the draft. I could see us potentially taking Simms. He could definitely come out, with the money and fame of the NFL, and I could see the Texans really liking the idea of building around a local product. He does have all the tools though, so I wouldn't be disappointed at all if we picked him up.

I would MUCH rather have Michael Vick than Chris Simms, when/if they declare for the draft in 2002. What has Chris Simms proven? Vick took a middle-of-the-pack team to the brink of a National Championship as a freshman.

Of course this could all change in 2 years time. As a Horns fan, I'd love to see Simms achieve the same. But he hasn't done it yet.

McNair's latest comeback was against a pitiful Steelers team.
IMO McNair has a long way to go before any comparisons to Elway.

I think Vick has already made up his mind to come out for this years draft.

Pimp got it right. Vick will come out this year. As for Simms, it is way too early to make any judgement on him. Lets just wait awhile before you go knocking him.

Simms needs the opportunity to play a whole game before I judge him . I will say that he looks better than Major, imo.

McNair needs a few more years before he's in Elway's class. Also, McNair is playing with a MUCH better team than Elway in his early years. John was a one man show, and if I had to pick one qb, I pick him.

Hey, who's knocking Simms? I just said he hasn't proven anything yet (which is true, since he didn't see the field much last year and Major's gotten the majority of the snaps this season) and that I hope he succeeds.

Looks like we all agree. How boring!

Simms is unproven- I will give you that. But to me, he looks like he has all the tools to be a great pro quarterback. Of course I'm just speculating, but I do believe he'll pan out. However, if he does pan out, I'd rather have him than Vick. The reason I say this is in the past, quarterbacks like Vick have not been all too successful in the pros. His mobility, running, and scrambling ability is what makes him into the best player in college football. (His passing is good, but that alone is NOT his trademark) However, as a quarterback, you don't do that in the pros. Your main job is to be a pocket passer. Will he be great in that role? That remains to be seen. Look at guys like Kordell Stewart and Michael Bishop. Stewart is a backup now, and although Bishop hasn't had a chance at starting, remember there's a reason for that. Both of these guys had many simularities to Vick in college. Big time playmakers with quick feet and running ability. But like I've said, in the pros your main need at QB is being able to stand in the pocket and deliver the ball downfield- deep and accurate. You also need size. IMO, Simms will be a better pro than Vick will, due to this reason. Simms in many ways shows the qualities/skills a great pro quarterback needs to have. Vick in many ways shows me the qualities/skills that make up a great college quarterback, but I'm not sure if his style will make a good pro QB.

    gimme a break.

When this guy is given the green light to actually throw the ball then we will see how good he is. Right now he is nothing more than a glorified running back.

hopefully there is something better than Simms by the time the Texans draft. But it don't matter much, cuz they will probably have the number one pick the next year too.

Just pick the best damn player please.
