I would think that if I was Tmac, too. Howard is everything I wanted Yao to be minus the jump shot. With that being said, Tmac should really keep his mouth shut as a professional.
There's nothing wrong with what he thinks, he can think all he wants but just don't tell the freaken media about it. I am sure plenty of players in this league think about what would happen if they play with a KG, a nash or a Kobe. It's only human nature. But to balantly tell that to the media will definitely create bad chemistry within the team. It's the fact that he said it that is the problem not what he thinks.
That is true. His words are also very revealing, because to me, the message that he sends is that everyone else but him is the problem.
You shut up! You are way over sensitive! That's a FL newspaper, praising DH is politically correct and is expected. TMAC did nothing wrong on this.
Yao should come out publicly and say that he wishes he hadn't extended his contract with Houston so he could have signed with LA to play with Kobe Bryant, the best wingman in the league.
If I'm Les Alexander this article tells me it's time for Knee-Mac to go. This guy is getting so pathetic I am to the point where I would rather miss the playoffs without him then make them (and watch him fade in the clutch) with him. It's a damn shame this team doesn't have a real, old school vet to to give McGrady a chin check for this sort of nonsense. His presence here is undermining everything that winning teams are about.
This, to me, resembles a man who gets divorced and then brings up how awesome his ex-wife is to his current wife. And how hot she was. And how they used to do fun things all the time. And... you get the point. Next thing you know, his current wife decks him across the face and knocks him out cold for even THINKING about his ex-wife. It's just something you don't do. I'm not reading too much into this article, but his last statement: "So could McGrady, a native of Auburndale in Polk County, ever envision a day where his dream of playing alongside of Howard is fulfilled? His contract with the Rockets expires after the 2010 season -- about the time the 22-year-old Howard will be hitting his prime. "I've thought about it," McGrady said whimsically, "You never know." ...basically tells me where his head is at right now. Leaders of a team are thinking about how to make the team better. They aren't daydreaming of when their contract will be up so they can jet to another city (or back to the one they just came from) and hope the next team will be better. I'm not saying players don't think of how nice it would be to play along Kobe or Duncan, but you don't go out to the media and tell them ... "yeah, I think about it all the time. Hell, just the other day I was thinking how nice it would be. You never know what could happen *wink.wink*". It honestly makes me sick thinking that if he keeps this up, he may actually get his wish sooner or later. And if that happens, the Rockets will fall apart and we'll be right back at square one (re: 1996-present).
Good analysis, babydill. McBaby needs to be dumped to a lottery team, so he can appreciate how nice it was to play with Yao.
Trade TMac for Rashard Lewis. TMac gets to play with Howard and the Rockets chemistry might improve with a homegrown star Alston Bonzi Lewis Scola Yao Francis, Battier, James, Hayes, etc
Have you seen RawLew's contract? Pass. I don't know what Morey is thinking, but he HAS to be concerned at this point. We won't get what we deserve if we give up TMAC. But if we keep him, it seems we are going to be plagued with injury.
"I think if Yao Ming was on my team, we'd probably have a 100 per cent chance of winning an NBA championship," Iverson said. players praise others all the time...everyone has the right to think what they want to anyways...big deal
