We shouldn't have to pick. They need to be men about this and take responsibility for their childish actions.
Of course Artest. Why would you keep someone that is injured-prone and lazy, non competitive. Morey is stupid to keep believing in Tmac. This fool is no help and when he's healthy (God knows when), what makes you believe he won't be injured again?? Actually i said the same thing on this message board last time. I said what makes you believe he's not injured again at a time when he's coming back. And here he is TODAY...walaaaa, surprise, injured again. It's time to trade his ass or do something when he's healthy and has value. Morey is a moron and keep believing in Tmac. Well...you keep believing until time is running out and we will never get to be a championship contender.
so in 04-05 tmac wasn't a superstar? tmac was still at the top of his game that year, and we had some good role players, we just fked up in the playoffs. reset? i would have been for trading tmac even b4 this injury only because i didn't see him extending his contract here and i didn't want to lose him if we weren't guaranteed SOMETHING. not sure if we can attract anyone off the free agent market even with that salary room, so i wanted to do it as a safety net, but not this year, b4 this injury. i'm still for trading artest for carter, the athleticism would appreciated
oh and no way are we letting yao go, we'd offer him the world. as much as we want to win, it's still a business and yao has to be making gles rich, he just attracts so much overseas revenue for the rockets organization and the nba as a whole. i see him being like hakeem, staying until the end of his career and then trying out something else for maybe a year just to see what life would be like, granted hakeem went to college here, so both yao and hakeem essentially began their american life in houston so it is their home away from home, i just don't see him leaving
Tell me you didn't just dog Artest's D...is he like he used to be? NO! Have you seen McGrady on the defensive end? Even if Artest is 1-10 from the field he still busts his butt on the defensive end, unlike McGrady who pouts and lets guys blow by him. Please watch a game every now and then before you say something stupid like that!!!
How about you watch a game? McGrady's D sucks, but I would say Artest is almost as bad. Now that is pathetic. He can almost NEVER stay in front of his man. He gambles on steals, all the time, causing out entire D to collapse, and Shane to have to guard basically every guy on the perimeter (since he's already also guarding McGrady's guy). Then, Artest does the stupid thing where he basically purposely runs into a pick and flails his head and arms around acting like he just got hit with a bulldozer or something, causing his man to have like 3 steps on him...
If you think Artest's D is almost as bad as Tracy, you obviously dont know **** about basketball. Is Ron gonna stay in front of the Kobe, LeBron, Joe Johnson types...NO? At least he tries and hustles, and doesnt b**** and moan cause his shot isn't falling...
Mhmm... Wasn't Artest a former defensive player of the year? Shouldn't he have the ability to at least stay in front of the offensive player? The guy doesn't even guard Kobe, Joe Johnson, etc.. Battier does.. Artest can't even stay in front of second tier stars. Is that really the amazing defensive that is expected from the much hyped Ron Artest? Ok, so maybe I exaggerated comparing his D to McGrady's, but I still think it is average. He is an ok defender, but very good at steals and the like. He is no Bruce Bowen, or Battier because his defense is mass overrated. Your last sentence has nothing to do with his defense.. And seriously, you gives a crap if he hustles and produces no results?
Artest is on a bad ankle and weighs 260lb at 6'7." Of course he can't stay in front of the quickest wings in the league right now. To call him an average defender is beyond ridiculous, however.
Second tier stars aren't the quickest wings. I'd say he is an average on the ball defender. He is great at getting steals However, that doesn't work well for the "team defense" most of the time.. I doubt Artest is injured anymore. His ankle is just fine. He has no excuse to pull out for being half the defender he is hyped to be..
Artest did a pretty damn good job on Wade. He makes the offensive player work even if he the guys does score. His defense hasn't been great but he has not been bad as T-mac's. But to answer the question I want to keep them both . If we don't oh well hope it improves our team.
Yea he is a former defensive player of the year...and? You forget he screwed his ankle up and shouldn't have even been playing? Yet he played through it as long as he could cause the team needed him. Last time I checked, steals were part of playing defense. The dude leads the team in steals even after missing 13 games. Guys on EVERY team, EVERY night, get beat by an offensive player, hince the term 'help defense'. I'd take Artest and his hustle with "no results" over T-Mac being a p***y!!
