I don't get the Montana thing, but then I don't follow football that closely. I recall Kansas City trading for him and then watching him heave fluttering ducks 15 yards downfield for the team. It was really ugly. Did he have a bad back early in the SF career? Did he ever need to leap to be effective?
Dear Tbui, after reading this ridiculous statement "His body language is poor and he has not shown he can lead a team in the playoffs" I suggest that u wipe the cocaine residue from your nostrils and stop hanging out with Bobby and Whitney Brown.
Here's a few tbui-isms... Ok, he didn't say them...but this is the tone of his statements. Now, imagine seeing post like these. Can you say, "My brain hurts!?" ----- On Michael Jordan at North Carolina 1984: "We should not pick up Jordan. There's absolutely no proof that he can play in the NBA. Sure, he's a good guard. But come on! He's not going to do anything in the NBA. At best, maybe 3rd all-nba. At worst, Danny Angie. We should just trade away our 1st pick and get a bunch of role players instead. Our team just needs a few changes. But lets not waste it on Jordan!"" On Akeem Olajuwon at University of Houston 1984: "We should not pick up Akeem. He's all defense. He has very little offense. He'll probably be just a defensive specialist. And, he can't even hit the 3 pointer! What kind of player is that? In the NBA, you are required to be strong. Akeem is skinny! He wont be able to play in the NBA the same way in college. There's no way anyone with a right mind would build a team around Akeem. No way. It's dumb to think otherwise. And if you do think that Akeem would be a good pick, you don't know anything about basketball. We should just trade away our 1st pick and get a bunch of role players instead. Our team just needs a few changes. But lets not waste it on Akeem!" Lets try football... On Emmitt Smith at University of Florida 1989: "We should not pick up Smith. He's a good back, but nothing special. The University of Florida hasn't really produced any good backs, so there's no reason to think that Emmitt Smith will be any different. We should just give away our 1st pick and get a bunch of role players instead. Our team just needs a few changes. But lets not waste it on Emmit!" ----- Of course, picking any of those players is only based on "hypothetical assumptions." It hurt just writing those..Ow!
Out of all tbui's excellent posts, I like this one the best. And there is only one other possible team to have 2 of the top 5. Since the two teams will have 4 of the top 5. And it will be us !! at least position wise. And it will make us dominant and special !!
You know, it's getting far too difficult to follow all of the McGrady trade threads. The air is just too thin up here and I tend to black out from the lack of oxygen...and reason.
Maybe McGrady cant fix all the Rocket's problems becuz he is one man, but atleast he knows where the hammer is. Poor little Steve Franchise couldnt even find the toolbox.
All few and admist abundant crappy performances. This guy's more inconsistent and less smart than Cat. What more is there to say? But, hm, you could've been sarcastic. But, it's always hard to detect through text without the aid of or
Come on now. I usually agree with you. Post count means nothing IMO, and some long time Rocket fans just recently found this great sight. I normally don't reply if my opinion has already been stated numerous times. I lurked since in was clutchcity.com with the Elie intro. Didn't register until forced. I, like most, don't agree with the personal attacks made early in this thread. I also think thacabbage is a good poster. I would do anything but give up Yao for this top 5 player.
