I know there probably isn't much to be read into here, but I'm just curious... Last night, Snyder grabbed a board, dribbled past T-Mac (not a big deal, he was pushing the ball up), made a move to drive, lost the ball, Dikembe grabbed it, passed it to T-Mac as he was shaking his head as if in disbelief. I believe a timeout was taken then as well, b/c once the ball was dead, T-Mac went to talk to Snyder. Any idea what was said there? Again, just curious, I'm sure it's nothing. -T edit: dang it, I spelled snyder's name wrong on the title.
I saw it too. it was pretty funny, cuz I know all of us have been through that before when playing ball.
I caught that as well. There was a lot of hesitation in Snyder's game last night. Snynder even said as much in the post game comments. There were times where Snyder hesitated with shots and times when he kind of bulled ahead to make something happen. I think the more he plays the more comfortable he will be with what to do in certain situations. But in the end, he is a low BB IQ player so things like that are going to happen from time to time.
"what are you doing ...what are you doing" said mcgrady with a grimase on his face i remember reading mcgradys lips when tihs happened during the game
Looked to me like Snyder was trying to create a fast break when it wasn't there and in that situation should have gotten the ball to a ballhandler who could get the offense set up(Alston or Tmac at the time). Tmac was probably pissed because it was obviously not a fast break opportunity and Snyder basically caused the team to start an offensive set both late in the shot clock and out of position by trying to fast break.
I figured it was something like that. I just hope he gave Kirk some pointers, rather than just basically making him feel stupid. I have no idea what Tracy is like as far as being a leader on the court with his words. I know he typically leads with his play.
There was one play where a ball was knocked free and Snyder started pointing to our direction thinking the possession was going to be ours instead of going after the ball. While he was pointing and celebrating, the Clipper player went and got the ball before it went out of bounds. I thought JVG tore into him, but not sure. I'm also not sure if the incident with TMac was before or after this, but I thought it was funny.
Yeah, I was wondering about that one. I figured JVG was going to use that one as an excuse to bench Snyder for the game and come back with Luther. However, in the news conference, JVG actually said some positive things about Snyder and made a definite point of pointing out how weak Luther's post up defense is.
mcgrady took him over and said wtf are you doing because he was playing wannabe pg on that play. later on in the game when snyder made a nice drive and got fouled mcgrady went over and talked to him again and slapped his a$$ so i'd say they're all good. as jopatmc mentioned jvg was pretty upbeat about kirk after the game, so things seem to be going ok for him now. he can bring a lot to the table but i'm guessing following directions is still an ongoing issue with him. he's very young though.
I just think JVG has no choice. Luther knows he's not going to a doghouse unless he tries to kill someone. He's been a big positive offensively. Unfortunately it's looking like Bonzi hasn't worked out as of yet. This leaves Snyder as "that other guy" off the bench. JVG really has no other choice but play the guy. After watching his game - he's a bit umm... scary. lol. Hopefully he gets his head on straight soon.
