Is this some kind of a record? I mean, I know draft picks sometimes do this, but has anybody under contract ever demanded a trade before their career even started?

Don't you have to ride the bench for like, a game, or maybe even one play - before you can gripe about not getting playing time?

Why did they draft him again?

They took a chance because if it weren't for that horrible injury, he'd be a top three pick.

He has the talent, he should at least profile his game and knee to the football public before asking for a trade though. If I were the Bills, I'd keep Henry and trade McGahee.

That's a very nice way to reward the team that took a chance on him and drafted him in the 1st round. McGahee's violating the rule of "don't bite the hand that feeds you."

what a nice show of gratitude.
i say the bills should overplay him in the preseason and hope he reinjures his knee.

Wishing injury on someone who has done nothing but show a desire to play is pretty classless-*.

*-unless that someone is that b*stard Karl Malone.

Amazing. If he is better than T. Henry then he will get playing time. What ever happened to patience?

What a pathetic ungrateful b*stard. He was fugging crying because he couldn't believe someone took him inh the first round after his broken leg. I hope this guy breaks his kneecap on the very first carry of the season. Travis has ruished for like 2600 yards the previous 2 seasons, why the hell should the Bills bench him in favor of a rookie coming off a broken leg??? What a fugging biotch

I thought it was a joke at first because not too long ago Henry was making the same threats.

Seriously, I'd give him even less playing time. That's what DC united did when Adu starting begging to start. Adu then got 10 minutes a game instead of 35. He shut up real quick. And learned his leasson.

I guess winning that ROY award and going to the Pro Bowl last season went to his head...

Uh... wait... what?

Anybody think he would be doing this had Ricky Williams not retired?

Well you are the second person in this thread that McGahee must have pissed in your bowl of cheerios.

I can't understand so much animosity towards the guy. I admit that he could have handled his desire to play more in a better way, but just cause he has desire and ambition does that mean he is some lowlife punk loser?

If some of you would quit acting like you are Travis Henry's family and put yourself in McGahee's shoes, maybe you can understand that the guy feels like he is out to prove his doubters wrong. You know - the ones that said he would never play football again after he got hurt in the Fiesta Bowl.

We all can walk in his shoes and understand his predicament, but the fact is, everybody in the league thinks they should start. He's not alone. He just hasn't earned it yet.

I agree, but is his desire to want to start warrant him getting hurt?

And maybe Rosenhaus is behind this and I admit that he could have handled this better, but I still fail to see how his wanting to start means he needs to be "taught a lesson" and have a career-ending injury.

It is like the guy has insulted some of the posters in this thread's mothers.

I thought that too, briefly, but I can't see the Bills trading him to a rival like Miami-- maybe some NFC outpost.

Willis is the same guy who was convinced that he would be nothing more than a second day pick, so much that he was CRYING when he found the Bills had decided to give him a chance and taken him with their #1 pick. Excuse me for thinking that maybe we shouldn't kowtow to every athlete who feels he is God's gift to that team. He had a seriously broken leg, why should the Bills turn over their season to essentially an untested rookie with a surgically repaired leg when they have a proven rusher like Travis Henry in the backfield already? I can guarantee you that WIllis will holdout the minute he starts a game.

I'm surprised no one's come in here saying "What you talking about Willis?" yet...

I just don't understand the logic behind this move. T. Henry demands a trade...then McGahee demands one too? His stock isn't nearly as high as he seems to think it is; no one wanted him draft day (save the Bills), and I'm betting people are still wary of giving someone who came off of an injury that serious a starting job. Play for at least a season behind Henry, see if you can learn something, then when you feel your stock is higher (and you've proven your knee will withstand a full 16 games of wear and tear) you should inquire about a trade.

When I saw the knee injury, I was aghast, even though I was rooting for OSU. I was very happy for him when he got drafted int he first round by the Bills. Although I don't wish another injury on him...hell, never mind, I do.
