Jack is simply stating what we have noticed for some time. But it is nice to see it coming from SI.

On Houston's chances in the playoffs:

"Speaking of Francis' ROCKETS, they will not reach the promise land. At about the time that Francis and backcourt running mate Cuttino Mobley are joining Pierce and Walker at the bursitis seminar, center Yao Ming will have finally learned how to say, "Pass me the damn ball!" in English. "

It is also ridiculous that Yao did not score until there were 47 seconds left in the first half. More merit to the point above. Sad.

yao shouldn't force shots if he's being double or triple team. as long as the guards pass the ball to him and use him to setup themselves for open jump shots or layoffs, the rockets offense will be ok.

i've been watching/recording (and rewatched) every rockets game so far i've rarely seen yao forces a shot when he gets the ball.

good things seem to happens whenever he gets touches, unfortunately the rockets are too slow to recognize this.

i wouldn't be suprise if yao starts to get fed up and become"greedy" considered how little he's been involved in the offense.

8 shots per game for a player of yao caliber is insane. the rockets win games consistently when Yao gets 12 shots or more.

The Rockets need to figure out quickly how to utilize yao properly and consistently get him 12 plus shots per game.

When Yao has the ball he can destroy you in so many different ways not just in scoring. That's a sign of a great player.

    that's my observation

I am chimming in the same sentiment:

YAO's shot selections are very prudent. Earlier in the season, he chose to pass rather than shoot, even though the shot seemed an easier option.

Wonder when his team mates will get some of his touches...
