Tom Coburn is another interesting possibility.

this is what Obama has wrought- we're now describing white folks as "articulate."

Someone to address Florida is important for McCain, which is why I'm in favor of Crist. Ohio is McCain's to win. With those two states, the Republicans will be very tough to beat.

Plus, what could play better than Christ versus Osama?

I think his best choices for VP would be:
    1. Huckabee
    2. Crist
    3. Guiliani
    4. Refman. That would be an awesome ticket. McCain-Refman. I'd make sure that damned bankruptcy act from 05 was repealed quickly. :D

I doubt it would be Rudy...

Too much 9/11 flashes before America's face when they see Rudy, and sadly people think of W when that happens...

It's a shame people don't realize what a tough job it's been to steer the country after all of that... But I can understand America's desire to move past those memories.

    Does that make sense?

Same with any other Bush cabinet member... too many bad memories.

I think Harold Ford Jr. would be a good selection because he is a DLC Democrat, who I respect more,... and would rather see him than Obama get attention in the White House.

Ford Jr. has charisma and more moderation in the democratic party than the other guy...

Bob Corker would be a great choice as well because of his overall political strength in areas McCain has been looked at.

    Chuck Hagel.

Maybe Jeb Bush, if Hillary wins.

Virginia congressman Eric Cantor. He's relatively young and wears glasses.

If McCain wants to really have some influence, he should choose someone with an eye on who will be the GOP candidate in 2012. This way, he could end up being a 3 term president (sort of) instead of a one-term lame duck. McCain's veep will have a leg up 2012. If I were the right-wing, I would push extremely hard for this because the future of the party is at stake.

    Dick Cheney. :p

There is no rule/law against serving as VP for 3 terms, right?

Please no Huckabee, the guy is a nut.

Crist might already had VP in mind when he endorsed McCain.

the more i think about it, Steele is the best choice. he should have won in 2004, and would have, if not for a concerted attack by the national DNC, which just could not countenance a black republican in the senate.

I think Huckabee would be an easy campaign issue to beat McCain with.

You don't really even see people electing Baptist ministers as mayors.... in Central Texas.

No dancin' at the inauguration and all that.

With all due respect, basso, that's bull****. He was targeted because it was a seat we might be able to pick up. Steele's race didn't make any difference.

    Impeach Bush.

I don't know, their ticket could argue an increased import of 4 years in office, given that they will be a sizable fraction of the 6,000 years the earth has existed.
