on tnt they were just talking about the mavs nets trade and other players that the mave could substitute in...we all have heard of signing keith van horn and trading him...but david aldridge just said vernon maxwell who played for the mavs on 01 and could be signed by only them could be an option to sign and add into the trade to the nets!!! wow could u imagine mad max back in the league!!!
i heard that too. From my understanding, what teams can do is sign the players that they retain to a three year contract and trade them. Only the first year of that money will count. It may not be a "comeback," but it's easy money. Don't know if that was what they refering to.
I brought this type of thing up in another thread and people called me stupid. I said after the McKie deal that the Rockets would be resigning Barkley and trading his contract for a contributor.
