Massenburg waived by Grizzlies October 30, 2002 MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Tony Massenburg was waived by the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday before the team's home opener against Dallas. The 35-year-old forward averaged six points last season. He has played for 10 teams in his 10 years in the league. ``Tony has been a real professional and an asset to the Grizzlies and teams he has played for throughout his playing career,'' Grizzlies president Jerry West said. ``However, to achieve success for this team in the future, we need to develop our younger players and give our young nucleus as much opportunity as possible to play.'' --------------------- 10 yrs, 10 teams?! Anybody know what the record is?
The Chuckster has the record. That's Sir Chuckie Brown, Charles... Massenberg is a good guy -- he'll be on a roster ere long. May not get into a game but he'll get on someone else's roster...
I guess with his stint in Sacramento last year, that gives him 11 NBA teams. Good call. He's got the record, for the moment....
it's amazing how much of a loyal team player the guy can be after bein passed around the block like a w****. i remember in vancouver he was one of the most active community guys on the team. he's a great guy and a solid rebounder. i hope he gets on a team soon.
