Sorry, on PC. I think it might have something to do with Steam. Not sure.

I've located the files. But it doesn't want to recognize them. Apparently I'm not a lone with this issue. (googled it).

I went ahead and made a new character.

I really should go back and finish me2 though. I stopped playing right before the end fight.

Been playing me3 for about an hour now.....

unfortunately you have no input in Shepard's fate, in the end it felt like none of your decisions, side assignments really mattered.

I'm putting in a lot of time, making sure to do every side mission and explore every system. I'd say I'm probably 60-70% through the game right now.

So it's obvious that the illusive man has evil intention by the end of ME2 and would probably be a villain in ME3. What is his role in ME3?

Is Jontro Shepard going to have to fight Cerberus AND the reapers at the same time?

You meet him early on (via hologram) and he kind of lets you in on what his plan is
He wants to control the reapers and then use them as a weapon for humanity

I'm sure more is to come but haven't dealt directly with him since.

And then yeah, a lot of the game deals with fighting Cerberus as well. Sometimes you're doing missions for Admiral Hackett where Cerberus has something of strategic value for the Alliance and sometimes they're trying to stop you from accomplishing your main mission. So you're always fighting either the reapers (and their ground troops and species they've indoctrinated) or Cerberus. Thus far it's been one or the other. I haven't had to fight both simultaneously.

That scene with Garrus on the Citadel just might be the best scene in the entire Mass Effect series.

haha I have both of these games on PS3..

I dont know why I find the game play a bit repetive. I absolutely loved both Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic games. I was so addicited that I didnt even sleep for a few days straight till I finished the games. So I was extremely excited to finally get ME2 on PS3. Unfortunately about half way in I just lost interest in the game. I didnt play it for several months before ME3 was about to come out so I forced myself to play through ME2. I just didnt find the story line that engaging and choosing to be a soldier made it a bit boring. So I'm about 8 hrs into ME3 and I find it to be the same thing over and over. Its not a bad game but I dont find it a great game that I'm unable to stop playing and put down.

Well to be fair I play a lot less video games then before. Maybe I just dont like the same type of games anymore. The only game I really play now is NBA2k12.

Okay, I need some advice, I haven't played the game yet, but when I do, what difficulty should I play at?
I hear that it will be harder than the first 2 mass effect games.

OK, beat the game. Ending is interesting. Maybe a letdown because it's only "OK" and not epic like the lead up to it is. I was satisfied but could see how others might be disappointed.

Did all the side missions, searched all systems, collected all assets, talked to crew members after every mission. Even listened to conversations on the Citadel. Took me about 42 1/2 hours to beat.

For me the ending left so many questions unanswered.

Can you guys spoiler the endings for me, for fayver? Like who are you fighting in the final battle? and does Shepard always die? Does everyone else die?

Do they at least have ALL of the companions fight together with Shepard instead of just picking 2?

The ending has very little gameplay. It's mostly dialog with a few Paragon/Renegade options thrown in. The last battle of "real" fighting has you fighting a whole bunch of brutes and banshees. Then later, during the interactive cut scenes, you deal with the Illusive Man who's been indoctrinated by the Reapers.

In almost every ending, Shepard dies. But if you high enough readiness (multiplayer) and you chose a particular ending (in true ME style, there's one last big decision to make at the end), then it's possible to see Shepard briefly taking a breath, indicating he survived. They do show some squadmates at the end who survived. In my game it was Joker (who I think is always there), EDI, and Liara. The others are unaccounted for. The way it plays out at the end, I'd probably assume that at the very least, your 2 squadmates die but it doesn't address it directly. Anderson dies too.

During the final missions on Earth, you only have 2 squadmates. Halfway through, there's a break and you can speak to everyone. You can even speak to people who aren't physically there via hologram. At the very end, you're by yourself.

While I was generally satisfied by the ending. There were a few things that bothered me.

Spoiler talks about generic relationship between the final battles and the rest of the game. No specifics about what happens at the end.

My biggest issue is really that there is no relationship between what assets you've acquired and how the final battle plays out. I kind of had this thing in my head that it would be somewhat similar to ME2 where what people you recruited, if they were loyal, how you chose to use them in battle, and even if you've upgraded the Normandy or not factored into how the endgame played out. It may have not affected the final outcome, but different things happened. In ME3, it doesn't matter what you did with any of the races, what people you saved, what assets you found, nothing. At least not in a specific sense. It's not like if you did something to boost your Krogan support that there will be more Krogan troops present. All that matters is the number associated with them. Now, the number itself can affect the ending somewhat. At higher levels, another option opens up and if it's too low then (real spoiler)
Earth can be destroyed, even if you defeat the Reapers.
but it's the total asset number that matters, not the specific assets you've acquired. That was kind of disappointing.

And now some more specific spoiler-y spoilers.

I never liked the kid. Didn't care. Didn't really want to chase after him in the dreams. I should've seen it coming but having the kid (or what looked like him) at the end was just kind of cheesy to me. And tying back in to the "your assets don't matter" complaint, the 3 endings are basically the same. The cinematics for the "control" ending is exactly the same as the one for the "synthesis" ending on the color of the "bubble" in one is blue and it's green in the other. The "destroy" ending is almost exactly the same except the reapers get blown apart and the "bubble" is orange/red. In all cases (with a few exceptions) Earth and the galaxy are saved, Shepard dies and becomes a legend. What supposedly happens in the aftermath is addressed in the dialog before you make your choice but there's no visual evidence to back it up. Disappointing.

That said, I'm still OK with it. The ending wasn't awful but it could've been better. Despite the qualms I do have, it doesn't spoil what is otherwise and outstanding game.

I skipped ME3 (at least for now), but curiosity got the best of me, especially with all the attention the ME3 ending is getting. Checked out the info/vids online.

Yeah...I'm glad I skipped it. Though it does sound like BioWare did a great job with the game prior to that (but that would all be lost on me after the ending). Maybe I'll play the game later on, via a Steam sale. Maybe I'll get to it right after I finish a Lost marathon.

What is wrong with BioWare? :(

    This.

Multiplayer is also pretty fun, tho I wish they added a player vs player element.

I have a question regarding importing what happened from previous games. I got a new system and wasn't able to import my saves from my last harddrive. I understand I won't be able to import my guy that I used in ME1 and ME2 :( :( , but will the game see what party members I killed and saved from my achievements perhaps or will I just be starting from a blank slate?

By decisions meaning whether to kill or save Wrex in the previous games, etc.

They will not carry over. Do you have a xbox by chance? My buddy had the same issue and just had to load up his old files on another xbox then move it to cloud and from there he was able to transfer them over.
