Sounds like these two guys are probably the two most desireable picks if the Rockets magically win the lottery. Lets play CD or Rudy T. If you were them and had the first pick who would you choose and why? I'm curious as to what people think. I think that Martin would have a more immediate impact on the Rockets, but Swift has the bigger upside. Seeing that the Rockets aren't going to win the title next year, I think I would go with Swift. One more question. With the thread on Darius Miles, if he has that much upside would you consider him for the Rockets with the first pick? ------------------
I'd like to gracefully exit the talk about who's better. I have no idea. As far as Miles is concerned, picking Miles #1 is like Chicago picking Mihm #1. It is just not necessary. Trade down man, and you'll still get your man.
Swift over Martin. Also, if the Rockets were to land a top 3 pick, its too early to take Darius Miles. Swift has a lot of upside like Miles but plays the position the Rockets need most, power forward. From the looks of it, Stromile Swift will end up playing power forward and Darius Miles small forward. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
Yes, its hard to say who is better, but who would you pick if you were the Rockets and had the first pick? ------------------
Hard to say, but Martin looks like the safer pick. I'd hate to have people three years from now looking back at the draft and saying, "Where is Swift playing nowadays? Is he in Europe? Man, Houston was stupid taking him. Can you believe they passed on Martin!" ------------------ http://www.gaffordstudios.cjb.net/
With the first pick, I have a hard time passing over Kenyon Martin. I think it's very situational. With pick #1, I'd likely take Martin, but it'd depend on how he works out for the Rockets compared to Swift. If say both were available at #3, I'd take Swift. ------------------ Rockets fans wanted at hoopsboards.com Draft Chat, NBA Chat, Team Chat, and more!
