SO between Martin. Andre Igoudala, and Caron which player would you most want to see wearing a rockets red jersey? WHich one would make the best combo with Ariza in your opinion? Which one would be the best fit? These are the central 3 guys who have come up in the trade talks, rumors and they all make sense one way another if Morey bends his tools and magic the right way.

Our back court of Igouala and Ariza would be defensive as both can do more than just hold their own on D. ( plus Iggy knows how to dribble)

Martin can shoot alot better than Ariza, compared to the pother two he's lanky but bi enough to be a 2 guard.

Lastly Butler, he's oldest among the three yet he's all around good, he's gotten quicker after dropping weight. I know the least about him though, ( plus as much as the Tracy haters hate him, I dont think he deserves to be shot by Arenas)

Kevin Martin is highly underrated. He's a high efficient scorer.

gotta go with the younger, durable player here. although Igg's contract is tough to swallow, he could shine here with an opportunity with a great organization.

None of them make us contenders in our present state. None of them. Maybe with a healthy Yao in the picture but don't get your hopes up too high.

That's what I'm implying a healthy Yao, a consistent Brooks, and maybe a 6'10 Power Forward named Chris Bosh

    Torn between Iggy and Martin...

would it be Iggy & Dalembert vs. Martin & Hawes?

An Aaron Brooks and Kevin Martin backcourt would be deadly though, two deadly 3 point shooters with Ariza getting spot up 3s which he is more accustomed too. Then if we get Hawes, a big that can shoot 3s well..

I would like AI for a couple of reasons..

    1) Less prone to injury (has missed only 7 games in 6 years in the NBA)
    2) He's only 24...can score, pass, rebound, defend.
    3) He brings a lot of athleticism and quickness.

Kevin Martin doesnt do much other than shoot the ball. He's not a great defender, and has missed over 30 games in back to back years.

Caron Butler is getting older, doesnt have much more room for improvement, average defender, also prone to injuries. Has missed over 20 games in last few years. He's played 63, 57, and 68 games over the last 3 years.

The last thing we need is another star-type player who is prone to injuries...

When did Hawes enter the picture? Sac is high on him and I don't see them including him in any deal.

As weird as it may sound I'd actually go with Butler.

there is no way around it he is a horrible defender, but his true shooting % makes up for a lot of his defensive weaknesses.

It'd likely be Iggy & Dalembert and Martin + fillers(Not Hawes)

However, it seems Morey doesnt want any part of Dalembert so unless they dont include him or you can find a 3rd team, don't count on that trade happening.

None of that is far fetched actually. It could happen. I look for Yao to be a 20-25 minute a night guy when he returns. He will be very efficient in his role and I think he will be happy with that.

We aren't going to bring back Yao and resign him just to play him 20-25 minutes a night. Despite whatever style clashes that there may be, Yao's presence in this line up will not change.

Clearly you havent seen the guy play... You're concluding Martin's better than AI by watching sportscenter highlights. Just look at the stats between the two players and determine whose a better PLAYER (not scorer). What good is a player that can put up more than 25ppg and doesnt play in 30 games/year? See Tracy Mcgrady....

    1. Andre Iguodala: He plays defense the best out of the three (which is underrated as people like flash and numbers). He is also the best athlete out of the three, so he can run with us (either facilitating or finishing the break). He can also create his own shot, and be a closer in the 4th.

    2. Kevin Martin is the best scorer here hands down, and would be my second choice. He can hit the wide open shots he's sure to get in this offense and will move will without the ball. He can play off Yao as second banana or step up as the go-to guy on offense (he's very good at getting to the line). However, he's not great on defense and is injury prone.

    3. Caron Butler: I'm the least sold on him mainly because of his age. He has great numbers, but he also plays for the Wizards. I think Caron for T-Mac is something you take of the rest of the package is good (i.e. no other bad contracts), or the other two guys aren't available. He's a great player, but his ceiling isn't as high. I'd just like a young guy who can grow with/ learn to lead this young team.

Martin is less durable and plays no defence.

Given that Butler is an option in this poll, I hope you were trying to be ironic.
