Figure the trip will take 3~6 Months once there you gotta help build it up Basic Frontier spirit type of thing since nothing there everyone with every skill is need the question is: WOULD YOU UNDERTAKE THIS GREAT ADVENTURE? If not. . what would it take for you to go? Rocket River
No. The novelty of it all might be cool at first. But after awhile, it'll hit you - it's just dirt and rock.
Yes, as long as I can access the internet from there. I know online gaming would be out, but I should still get the BBS with a pretty long delay.
hell no, Earth is awesome. To go, i'd have to have about 20 women of my choice, my own cook, full sets of books, comic books, dvds, season dvds, a crapload of video and computer games, the entire internet saved on a harddrive with no passwords, a lot of pot, and about 10 ipods full of songs of my choice. In other words, what I imagine heaven to be like. but right now, with my life, I have heaven on earth, so that's what it'll take for me to leave it.
It would not be even as exciting as the "wild west" of reality, much less fiction. Your life expectancy would probably be cut in half, and at least for the first several pioneers, I've seen analysis where the closest analogy to your lifestyle would be being in prison, since you would have to live in cramped spaces, there's limits on how far you can roam, and the only news and entertainment will be piped in from Earth, like prison cable TV. That having been said, I'd go in a heartbeat. It's about the only thing I can see doing with my life at this point that would leave me feeling as if I'd made a lasting, permanent contribution to the human race that I could be proud of. The first group that went, however, would be screwed. It'd be later "pioneers" that got rich and built the society. The first large group would live long enough to prepare the infrastructure for those who follow.
Hell naw, I wouldn't even go anywhere near Space, I saw Armageddon and Deep Impact and Apollo 13 and all that ****.
I'm hoping to god I get the chance. I need a skill first, didn't get the job in antartica as a dishwasher, whats the chance they need a charasmatic vagabond?
With the gravity on Mars being roughly 1/3 of gravity on Earth, it would be definitely worth spending a few years out there... you know, just to hone my bowstaff skills.
no, thanks. i'm partial to earth. one sweet world By: Dave Matthews Band Nine planets round the sun Only one does the sun embrace Upon this watered one So much we take for granted So let us sleep outside tonight Lay down in our mother's arms For here we can rest safely If green should slip to gray But our hearts still bloody be And if mountains crumble away And the river dry Would it stop the stepping feet Take all that we can get When it's done Nobody left to bury here Nobody left to dig the holes And here we can rest safely One sweet world Around a star is spinning One sweet world And in her breath I'm swimming And here we will rest in peace
