I know he is old and slow and is not a great shooter, but man that guy could pass the ball, and get it into Yao at the right time. Lue and Ward are just not good. DD
i just mentioned that in the game thread as a joke. You are joking right DD? jesus at this point, i'd take him over ward/lue too
LOL I forgot about Mark Jackson and his ugly shot but yeah he could pass, we need something else to take us to the next level our role players suck
I don't think he is the answer, but he is great at protecting the ball, and getting it to the right people at the right time. DD
The Rockets don't need to go out and bring back re-treads like Mark Jackson. Bobby Sura is coming back in two weeks. While I still see Ward starting, Sura will bring the defense, toughness and athleticism off the bench that the Rockets sorely need. Jim Jackson is logging way too many minutes. Sura can relieve that problem. Unless the Rockets can pry Antonio Daniels away from Seattle, I think they should try to tread water until Sura can get into a game.
Yep. Bill Worrell said so on the broadcast tonight. Sura is already doing some serious workouts. He'll be ready for practice next week (probably) and ready for game action in two weeks, well ahead of schedule. I imagine he'll take several games to get his conditioning back and to find his shot.
It doesn't matter if he if sura is coming back because as soon as he makes a decision that Gumby doesn't like, he'll send him to the "binch" for the next 2 weeks like Boki.
on the other hand, people that that Mark Jackson would somehow magically transform SF into a distributor...
Rocket River I agree with you. It was also mentioned in the "why van gundy can't coach offense" thread that perhaps we do not have a good coach for exactly what MarkJ could teach - how to get the ball into Yao. and then they can all sit there and practice it 5,000 times with ewing and yao and the PG's. maybe some of the guys we have this year might be more coachable about wanting to ge the ball into the post.... and would actually listen to MarkJ
Can we ask Rudy T for a guy to pull out of the CBA? He always had a knack for finding someone who could be productive for a year or two.
I don't understand why everyone is calling Sura the savior, the answer to all our PG problems. This guy was known as a shooting guard the bulk of his career, but suddenly after some PG time with the Hawks, he is a legit point guard? A good thing about Sura his his height, I'll wait and see what kind of difference he actually brings.
