If you haven't seen this kid play yet, you're missing out. He's currently leading the Big East in assists with 8 a game and is two tenths of an assist away from leading the nation (including 4 double digit assist games in his last 10). The best part's been the way he gets those assists. Think lightning fast baseball-style passes into the post for a dunk.

He's absolutely shredding defenses and, as a lefty, is working on right hand as well as his jumper, which already is adequate out to 18 feet. On a Uconn team with 3 lottery pick front court players, he's arguably the best post-entry passer in college basketball. And he's doing it all against top competition. Though he's still under the radar, I wouldn't be suprised at all if he was a 1st rounder by the end of this year, though he probably won't come out till 2006). Easily my new favorite player in college hoops and certainly someone the Rox should look out for.

I really don't see any way he's gonna become a first rounder by the end of this year, and barring any huge changes, I don't see him coming out early next year. He's an adequate defender and a decent passer, but he's an extremely streaker shooter and his decision making abilities sometimes just disappear for entire minutes during the game. I'm sure this is all because he's still a sophomore and this is part of the maturing process. But because I don't see him being a college "star" so to speak, I think he'll be an extremely valuable pick up in late first/early second round after his senior year.

I agree, maybe it was a little overboard of me to suggest he would be a 1st rounder this year, but with his size and skill i can still see that in his future. As a Uconn player, I doubt he'd leave after his junior year, but a lot of the early mock drafts have him going in the 1st round in 06. An interesting thing to note is that as many as 7-8 Connecticut players could wind up being drafted over the next 2 years. No wonder they're the most scouted team in the nation right now, along with UNC.
