Marcus Williams won't bring anything to the table and he won't find playing time here. We have bigger priorities than looking for a 3rd string PG. The only Williams I'm interested in is Sean.

Shouldn't this be in the NBA dish? Or least merged to the rox random trade thread....

    on topic:
Yeah this guy is such a waste of talent. I remember when his draft came along scouts were saying the only reason he dropped to the Nets was because of his laptop stealing scandal. I remember a lot of analysts giving the Nets a high score for nabbing him, saying that he can put his thieving past behind him and learn from one of the best pgs ever. Nets were right in ignoring his criminal history but apparently they didn[t count on his lack of work ethic lol. Seriously has he even shown a bit of progress from his rookie year? He already showed that he was a pretty good passer during his rookie year, too bad he didn't work on his defense or shooting. Really too bad, he could have been Deviin Harris v2....

precisely wat i was thinking, we miss u Deke!! Deke contributes not only on the court, he contributes in the locker room, the bench and good sparing partner for Yao during practice.

n we dont really need a guard at the moment, we still have the SF3 lottery with us (still wondering what his contribution gonna be when he's back, very low, hence a lottery)

I think that he was another target of ours, when we couldn't land Roy that draft night. I think that he would be a great fit for us at a low cost, because of his stock falling. I think it would be one of those low risk high rewards type of thing, that is if he does pan out. He would be a good compliment to our high powered Aaron Brooks, and can't do much but pass the ball on the perimeter Rafer Alston combo. He's still good at getting to the basket and that's something that we need and like others have stated he doesn't need to shoot, just distribute, I mean that's the excuse we make for Rafer.

I second the motion. I think hes talented and has potential. And, the most important thing is he cant be worse than Rafer IMHO. I watched every single game this season and its horrible to watch Rafer playing. Williams played good in Nets as Kidd's backup.

I rather have Brent Barry to play alongside Brooks... Just like everyone said, there is a problem with his work ethic. Talent means nothing if you cannot show it or work hard to prove it...

I love Williams' game and i loved watching him when he was at UConn but if he isn't getting playing time with the Warriors i highly doubt he would get it here when we are a deeper team. We have Rafer starting Brooks backing him up. Also McGrady and Barry can play some point. Thats 4 people ahead of him. 5 if your including Francis.

The problem with our PG position is:

    1. Alston can't shoot, but we just can't get anyone that could shoot and pass as well as Alston without giving up Yao or Tmac.

    2. Brooks is a great backup, but he's still a couple years away.

we need a 3rd solid backup who can take handling duty off alston for 5 to 10 mins, or serve as backup if he's injured.

William could serve that role. remember when alston was out and brooks was handling? we missed those passing skills of alston. Head was more like a backup for brook with his shooting touches. Berry is needed for his shooting ability and spreading the floor more than a passer.

maybe head for william + 2nd round pick. or

    SF+head for William+1st round.
