They won by only 2 points at home against the Nets. If you're just gonna watch the box score, check out the one stat that matters: Scoreboard. Despite their 15-3 run, the Thunder haven't been playing all that great. Before the All-Star break, they were truly on a tear. But right now they are playing well enough to beat a bunch of weak sisters on their schedule. How they do the final 2 weeks of the season against better competition will say something about them.
Westbrook had 9 turnovers tonight, along with 10 assits and double digit scoring. But he had one SICK pass on the fast break to Thabo in the first quarter. That was a sick pass...
What are you talking about ? They are a young LEGIT team. 16-3 in your last 19 games isn't playing good? Who cares if they have been struggling...there are one of the youngest teams in the NBA. That should be expected. Yes there schedule has been easy as of late but they are still finding ways to win, and that is what counts. I don't think to many teams want to face them in the playoffs with the level of talent they have it will be hard to match.
Calm down. I doubt anyone here has followed the Thunder any closer the last 3 years than I have. But the last 2-3 weeks they have forgotten to play defense (which is the main reason for their success) and they are cleaning up on an easy schedule. Their record against winning teams in the Western Conference is very poor. All signs point to a quick 1st round exit. I hope I'm wrong, but the Thunder will get steam-rolled if they don't play tough defense in the playoffs to overcome their weak offense. I'm just being real. I watch every game they play and the fact is they played MUCH better in late January and early February. The last 2 weeks of their schedule features a lot of playoff teams. We'll see.
Westbrook's careless handling tonight along with an overall lack of intensity was why the game ended up being close. Maybe it's a case of looking forward to the Jazz on Sunday.
Even if the Thunder don't make much noise in the playoffs this year they have vastly improved. I don't see to many teams currently in the West that are in as good of a situation as they currently are.
