I really like Melo, and I think this is a no-brainer. Manu has stepped up as a top-10 player this year. To this point, Melo has played his best basketball outside the NBA (Syracuse and Team USA).
i think carmelo anthony is the most overrated player in the NBA... i don't know if it's sheer luck, but every game i watch him, he always does poorly... manu is clutch...and he's only getting better... trade shane battier, bobby jackson, draft picks for him!
Manu would average 25+ PPG if he played on a different team. He's the total package: offense, defense, brains, intangibles. Not only is he a playmaker but he's also probably the 2nd best slasher in the NBA next to LeBron.
yeah, i mean AI=duncan these results are ridiculous, what does manu do better than melo besides play for the spurs. defense? LOL
yeah, he's the reason the spurs win. its that simple, same thing with robert horry. as a matter of fact i would take horry over manu any day seeing how many more rings he has. i mean that's such a logical argument.
i love the way manu shows up on the road in the playoffs, he doesn't need timmy when he's playing in LA
Melo is the most overated player in the entire league, he runs from a fight, backs down to a challenge and plays zero defense. The guy is softer than Jon Koncak's right butt cheek. DD
yeah, fighting is good rationale, if he joined that fight you would call him a thug. there's one person on this site with all you spurs fans that's overrated, its not melo. dude disappears on the road in the playoffs, a statistical fact, and you call him tough. LOL
He did join that fight he swung and then ran like a little b**** ! I am sorry, how is Melo doing in these playoffs, or any playoffs for that matter? There is a reason that Melo is being shopped around, and Manu is not..... Manu may have struggled some in THIS YEAR'S playoffs on the road, but his team is still playing, and he is one of the major reasons why.... I would take Manu on the Rockets over Melo every day of the week and twice on Sunday...the guy is relentless on attacking the glass and his hustle is unquestioned. Melo, he is a great talent that is wasting away due to attitude. Melo strikes me as one of those players that is satisfied just being IN the NBA....not one who is desperate to win, ala Jordan, Bird, Magic, etc... DD
yes, i'm sure that has nothing to do with Tim Duncan. I guess Melo learned to be a loser in the NBA after carrying his team to a national championship as a freakin freshman. yeah, that's a logical argument.
What? Please tell me you are not comparing him winning the NCAA championship to playing in the NBA, right? I mean honestly.....great he won a college championship...WOOOOPPPTTTYYYY DOOOOOO !!!!! Iverson, Melo, Camby, Martin, JR Smith...etc..etc..etc... and they can't get it together enough to win. Come on.....that is some leadership by your boy Melo there..... ROFLMAO ! DD
yeah, manu's the leader of his team, it has nothing to do with tim duncan, as i stated earlier, tim duncan = allen iverson.
Hold back the tears, pgabriel. HOLD 'EM! Anyone wouldn't prefer Ginobili to Anthony on their favorite team in a game being played tonight (or any game next season) really needs to get League Pass.
The point of this thread is who is better.....I think it is obvious that Manu is the better overall player.....and most people seem to agree.... Regardless of Melo's outstanding Freshman year at Syracuse....ROFLMAO ! Shocking that PGab is here standing up for another underperforming talent...sort of Steve Francisish...right? DD
Also, while I chortle: 88.8 to 99.7. Any idea what those stats refer to? On top of that, any idea why difference between those stats would be significant?
No one said he sucks, they said Manu is better. There is a big difference. Put up a poll about Melo vs Battier that would be a little more to your favor. DD
I understand the question, given upside, given what they have produced in the nba, i take melo. manu is a full seven years older than melo, and he already needs rest in the playoffs. he's more efficient, that's about all he has on melo at this point and he should, he's the vet. he's not a good defensive player, I don't care what you tell me, so that's a wash. melo is stronger, younger, and a great score, i'll take him before manu any day and twice on sundays
