Read this today, and for some reason, I enjoyed. Feel free to critique.......or add more:

My addition: Load a dishwasher; even if you think it is a woman's work, one won't always be around to do this for you. And chances are, she doesn't know how either. Sure, there are some dishwashers that might occasionally remove a three day old dried egg off of your plate, but most won't. Scrub the chunks off of your dinnerware when you are finished eating. Look inside your dishwasher and find out where the spray arms are; there might be one on top, but usually there is just one on the bottom. Understand that this things twirls around and sprays water upward, so lean the dirty part of your dishes downward. Put the largest and tallest items towards the sides and the smallest items in the middle; this allows the water and cleanser to reach everything. Put your glasses on the top shelf--obviously, facing down, and if you can, put your bowls up there as well. They don't need their own space, but you can't stack them either. Try putting a bowl in the top tray leaning against the side at about a 45 degree angle, and then you place another one leaning against the first. The key is to visualize the direction of the spray and always allow the water to reach--as much as possible--as much of the dirty surface area of your dishes.

(I know this probably sounds really obvious, but it kills me how many people just don't seem to be able to "get" this)
