Got this buddy who is obviously about to lose his girl. In my opinion, you don't touch anyone's ex for at least six months after the initial breakup. What are y'alls opinions?
i think it depends on a lot of different circumstances. but usually in my opinion if there was any seriousness involved at all its pretty crude and classless.
so many different circumstances that can change the answer to this question. depending on all those things, i can see answers from 3 months to never.
i think there's a thread floating around about this already. anyway, only douches date girls their friends have dated. come on, there are a lot of other women out there.
get the blessing of your friend, otherwise you are still a douche or at the very least, tell him beforehand whats up, if he's your friend he deserves to know upfront
Ok lets say you tell him and he starts acting all immature and a jerk about it. If hes really your friend don't you think he should be for it as long as you (one of his best friends) are happy?
You never touch a buddies ex....never... A good friend respects the friendship of a buddy over the pursuit of the loins. DD
Lots a variables to consider. As a rule of thumb I personaly never date a "buddies" ex. Co-worker or aquintance is a different story.
Never. If you can't abide by that, at least ask the guy if he would be okay with it, and if he says no then she is off limits. If you can't show him even that much respect, you are not a very good friend.
it depends on how serious they were and a definite no-go if she dumped him. KRAMER: Does George know? JERRY: No, he'd go nuts. KRAMER: Yeah, no kidding. JERRY: I feel terrible. (Kramer smiles) I mean, I've seen her a couple of times since then, and I know I can't go any further, but.. I've just got this like, psycho-sexual hold over me. I just want her, I can't breathe. It's like a drug. KRAMER: Woah, psycho-sexual. JERRY: I don't know how I'm going to tell him. KRAMER: Man, I don't understand people. I mean, why would George want to deprive you of pleasure? Is it just me? JERRY: It's partially you, yeah. KRAMER: You're his friend. Better that she should sleep with someone else. Some jerk that he doesn't even know. JERRY: Well, he can't kill me, right? KRAMER: You're a human being. JERRY: I mean, she called me. I haven't called her. She started it. KRAMER: You're flesh and blood. JERRY: I'm a nice guy.
It's more complicated than that. If he were a "bro" it'd be different. But he's an "acquaintance", and, at least to me, there is a big difference. Don't get me wrong. I think he is a good guy. That's why I'm talking about rules, period. Otherwise. Well. Anyone here who knows me can answer that.
like a lot of people here have said it just depends on dif variables. and probably how much of an a**hole you are.
And I've always credited myself on being a gentleman when it comes to a girl wanting to get with me. As I stated, it is complicated. The "never" rule that I've seen on this thread simply means that said poster hasn't been involved in said situation, and should more than likely shut it.
Look man I got a an aquintance who's getting a divorce and his wife has the kinda ass I could hit every night. But It's just not worth the trouble. However, one night my roomate's girlfriend and I got drunk and I went straight to the A. We hooked up all spring semester without him ever finding out. I guess if the a$$hole would've let me out of the lease and not have to postpone my study abroad I would have treated it like the aquintance.
