It looks pretty bad, he should be out for at least one game. I twisted my ankle like that before, and it took me a week to just walk again.
Dont kid your self, theres noway malone is going to miss a playoff game. Unless his ankle is broken, he will be playing.
It's not as simple as "toughen it out" or a cortisone shot. Kenyon Martin injured his ankle badly and missed a few games. If it swells up to the point he can barely walk I don't care how tough you are or you think you are. Compound that with his injured knee and Malone is REALLY banged up.
doesn't matter- it looks like Cato may never play again, and MoT couldn't defend a geriatric with a colostomy bag, so Malone at less than 100% will still be effective against the Rockets. Plus, he's Karl Malone, he'll find a way to screw the Rockets somehow.
karla did not sign with the lakers to sit out of the playoffs. he will play, even if he has to hop on 1 leg all night.
Malone wasn't 100% before, and while I expect him to come back and play every game, I doubt he'll be as effective as they'd like him to be. Unfortunately, it may mean he'll rely more on his usual grabbing, kicking, and elbowing. Evan

i would have personally preferred a broken jaw and cheekbone from a thrown elbow, but i'll take the sprained ankle.
