I think the idea of writing damages for a work stoppage into the arena deals would have been an achievable and effective way to discourage prolonged lockouts. Unfortunately, he's about a decade too late with that idea. Let's be sure to do that when the next round of arenas are being negotiated. The fan boycott is unenforceable. Even if the fanbase found a way to enforce a boycott, the league will act as if they won't because who would expect the fans to actually be able to pull that off. If you can do it great (maybe the precedent will be useful for next time), but don't rely on it for a strategy.
