Ok i have a problem, and everyone says to come here so here i am...

I recently went on a little trip to tulsa for my girlfriends cousins wedding. On the way back I had my mac in my backpack carry on and with me the whole time. We had a layoff in dallas for like 45 minutes. So i decide that im gonna pull out the ol mac and check clutchfans real quick to see if we traded tmac yet and i have a black oil looking spot on my screen. I called best buy to see what the hell the deal was and he said something to the effect that a crystal in the screen busted. Heres where i effed up big time...i didnt buy best buys service plan. Mistake... they wanted like a couple hundred extra bucks for it and ive had laptops for years and never dropped them so i passed. He said apple wouldnt cover it because they would call it physical damage and they wouldnt cover it. I have been looking around on some forums for mac and it seems the only road is to buy a new screen which cost almost as much as the laptop. What the eff do i do? Any kind of help would be appreciated very very much.

I hate to say this, but yeah, you're probably screwed. Laptop screens are notoriously expensive. It's really the only thing a service plan is for.
