Luther can't run the point on offense, which any Rockets fan knows. On defense, he plays hard and he won't dog it, but he lacks the quickness to hang with PGs and the strength to defender bigger wings. I think he can work well in an up-tempo system, playing maybe 15-20 minutes a game. He runs the floor well, and he's pretty good moving without the ball.
Good luck to whatever team he goes to. Just hope that team don't make the playoffs and he'll be fine. If he go back into the playoffs, he will be expose again like he did in Utah. But overall, he is a decent role player that just can't find a spot. Hopefully he can find a decent team and stick with it.
The one place I think luther would thrive is in orlando where his best asset (spot up 3 pointer) could be utilized similar to his better days in Houston when he didnt have to handle the ball so much and could hit 3's off of Yao all day.
i met luther at the airport earlier this summer, he had a cast on his right arm. we talked and joked for a while. he is a really great guy. i boarded first since i got upgraded to first, and when he boarded onto coach, he joked that i was sitting in his seat as he walked passed me to his seat. he said he really missed being on the rockets, but he knows its a business.
All I can remember about Luther Head was he couldn't pass a inbound pass and burned the last timeout Rockets had, JVG pulled down his last few hairs. hahahaha
