I did forget to mention that I would NOT take Head w/ a 1st round pick. He would be a great 2nd round pick, though.

no way should ike or simien be passed over for this guy but, if we're picking a guard i believe he should be considered.

i just don't think we need anymore combo guards on our team. we already have : sura, wesley, barry. then james at PG. where does head fit in?? he isn't any better than what we have. a wasted pick imo.

Bryce Drew had a couple of good games for a bad team

Head was a starter on the number 2 team in the country

after the draft - "rockets get head"

after his first great summer league game - "head dominates from the tip"

after his first great preseason game - "rockets head wows fans"

after he steals some PT from james and sura - "head making things sticky at the point"

Luther Head would be a nice pick IF we had a 2nd Round Pick. He's a SG in a PG's body and is still undersized.

For what it's worth: Sportscenter just said that Luther Head was one of their "2nd Round Steals".

gosh, guys... you talk as if head is a bad player. have you even ever seen him play. i mean not just once or twice... but several times. the fighting illini werent a great team b/c of just deron williams and dee brown. if that was the case the illini would have been a terrible team. they were good b/c head was the one player actively running around the entire court... he always found ways to get open when the rest of the team struggled. he is one player i would love to get on this team. he would be great comming off the bench for us... him and james would be a killer duo together off the bench. both of their energy would be tough to harness

If it hasn't already been said, isn't Head just a 2nd round version of Steve Francis?

no, head is nothing like francis. if anyone says that hasnt been watching illini basketball. please people... dont talk about players you havent seen play. especially if you dont know anything about them. dont credit yourself that you do know about him by what you have read from other people either. head would have played pg at any other school... but deron williams and dee brown (both players which are even smaller than head is) were occupying that position. even with those players on the court he was able to somehow average more than 4 assists in the college game. he also scored as ease on the team... which he should be able to do for the rockets. tmac and yao should be able to show him some open shots like what he got from illinois. but please people... dont knock the guy unless you actually know his game. :D

Oh, fogive me for not letting my life revolve around Illini basketball. If only I had put a question mark in my post to clue people in that I was asking a question.

Luther Head reminds me a lot of Jason Terry. Remeber Terry was in Arizona with Mike Bibby and Miles Simon so he was a little overshadowed like Head was with Deron Williams and Dee Brown. He has no true postion but is very good.
