This guy is going to be the next big thing! I had a chance to check out his performance today at the Intonation Music Festival here in Chicago and he was AWESOME! His lyrics are innovative, his delivery is sick, and his beats are great. I'm sure most of you (rap fans) have heard his first single "Kick Push", but a lot of his other singles are absolutely great too. He was also on Kanye's "Touch the Sky" and a few other Kanye singles off of Late Registration. Lupe's album doesn't come out until August 29th (legally), but be sure to check it out!
I don't know about next big thing. we will see. I personally have my money on Ray Cash. two very different emcees but both fresh personalities. I plan to buy both albums, and I don't buy too many rap albums any more
Was Rhymefest and Dead Prez there too? My friend just emailed me telling me he saw Lupe, Rhymefest and Dead Prez up in Chicago.
through the grim reaper sickle sharpening/ macintosh marketing/ brazilian adolescent disarmament/ israeli occupation islamic martyrdom/ and precise, laser guided targeting/ oil-for-food bartering/ terrorist organization harboring/ sand camouflaged army men/ ccf sponsoring/ world conquering/ telephone monitoring/ louis vuitton modeling/ pornographic actress honoring/ string theory pondering/ bulemic vomitting/ catholic priest fondling/ preemptive bombing and osama ain't bombing them/ they breaking in my car again before a station and over logging/ hennessey and hypnotiq swallowing, hydroponic coughing/ all the world's ills sittin' on chrome, twenty-four inch wheels/ like that/ - lupe fiasco
Precisely...Lupe is sick I've got "I Gotcha" on my myspace right now...it's better than kick push imo I've got food and liquor but it doesn't have "I gotcha" on it so I'm guessing I'm gonna have to dl that and reburn it. Then again he is Pharrell's boy so it's only natural I'd be down with him seeing as how Pharrell is my absolute favorite artist
...and the hip hop style of the mid to late 90's continues to catch on. more bad new for moestavern. east rap was ahead of it's time in the 90's. more about lyircs and being creative rather than "popping your trunk" these days. it took listeners long enough to recognize. good to see that it's gradually progressing to other parts of the country. bad to see that lesser known acts from earlier were too ahead of their time to get recognition.
He's also Muslim. He made a remake of Kanye's "Jesus Walks" called "Muhammad Walks"...it's really good
Balla told me about this song so I wondered how he was going to have this song and then talk about b****es n hoes n crystal in his next song. But apparently his lyrics have nothing to do with the latter so I was pretty impressed.
Damn, you stole my thunder. I really, really, really thought this was about a Mexican gangster's troubles. Once more I've been fooled. Damn you, thread titles. .
Ive had the new lupe fiasco for a few weeks. I was actually kind of dissapointed. I loved kick push, theres 16 tracks, and I would say 6 out of 16 tracks are great. The rest is ok...If you were expecting a classic record, its not gonna happen.
are u sure thats the Food & Liquor album...cuz he had to remake his whole album cuz it got leaked on the internet.
i don't even need to hear anything else after "kick push". that song is just literally a breath of fresh air. i guess i like my rap songs to actually have a story behind it instead of the usual b****es blings and blucka blucka
ive heard another single on the radio, and that single is on the record i have. Im assuming its the record coming out...
What you have is the Advance. The retail copy is nowhere to be found on the internet. Lupe found out it leaked and said he was going to change it up Hes good but overrated. Too much of a backpack rapper for me
