I think Scola's numbers actually improve with Yao back in the lineup. Imagine teams doubling Yao and Scola knocking down open jumpers. Or Landry cutting to the rim for one of his power dunks.

He only had 1 double-double starting along side Yao, and only averaged like 9 points, 4 rebounds. I'm just eye-balling the numbers though.

Scola has earned some respect from Yao being out, i think Rafer (if he continues to be our starting PG) will be forced to give the ball more to Luis if he cannot force feed Yao or T-Mac also he was ignored a lot on offense at the beginning of the season, with all the improvements i think Adelman will be able to use Scola off-Yao far better than he has used in the past, i expect Scola to be the third shot taker at a respectable percentage next year.

I say Luis can become a 13ppg 10rpg player if he keeps playing around 35 minutes.

If he works extra hard on his jumper, I don't think 15-16 PPG is out of the question. Especially if Yao continues to improve on his passing.

His rebounding will probably be down when Yao is back. I think he will still be scoring around the same pace.

I think next year he will be in the 15 points per & 7 rebounds per.

yea, i've noticed that too, it gets realy realy irritating. but mutombo does that too. once he gets the ball down low, it takes him so long, that they triple team him, and you have batteir or jackson open, but he doesn't notice them and goes up but usually gets blocked. :(

right now, i'm trying to figure out why scola would not pass it to the perimeter guys when he's doubled/tripled, and the only reason i can think of is, 1. he doesn't see them. 2. he thinks, his shot has better chance then theirs.

or he could just be selfish... but i just can't imagine that.

He has good court vision and I don't think he is selfish. In my opinion he thinks his shot has a better chance then theirs. Hopefully he will improve with time and experience.

Well he did shoot 51%.The fact is Scola has to take the open jumpshots to keep the defense honest but I do agree that at times he forces the shot up in traffic. If he's reluctant to shoot we be looking at the Hayes effect where defenders drop off him to double Yao(Or Tracy). I'm really hoping he and Landry get in the gym and become better midrange shooters. That 10-15 ft jumper at the elbow is always there for him and Landry. Also on the roll out with Tracy/Rafer. They just need to kock it down at a higher clip.
