so your argument boils down to how much better a QB Rex Grossman is than Curtis Painter? Wow. Yeah Grossman worked miracles when he was with the Texans. great argument brah lol
I don't recall commenting on which QB is better. I only commented on the lack of quality in your logic.
I think both will be great, but I believe Luck will be better when it is all said and done. Luck have a chance to be GOAT.
ur argument is worse. rating a QB just based on record. let me guess..kobe bryant is worse than rudy gay also? i mean look at the lakers..8-8! same record as the rockets.
Colts werent as bad as their record indicated... remmeber the "Suck for Luck" campaign they were trying to get the number 1 pick so bad, they pushed Peyton out the door
I think RG3's style of play, while more fun to watch, makes him vulnerable to injury. Because of that, I think Luck will end up having the better career. But right now, RG3 doesn't have the weapons around him that Luck does, so I'd like to see what he can do once he's surrounded by better players.
All I said is he have a chance. Just like when Manning played the first year, you can say he have a chance to be the GOAT. At this point, unless Manning wins two more SBs, I cannot say he is clearly better than Brady or Montana.
I think Luck is really good, but his QB rating is similar to that of VY, and VY wins as well. To say Luck is better because of his record is to say VY should be a starting QB in the NFL. As both a Longhorn and some one who went to SHS, I say that's truth on both accounts. But as a Redskins fan, I have to say RG3 is the best QB of the three.
This is a debate that won't be settled for years, it would be interesting to open this thread up in five and ten years.
As a Colts fan, I have to say I'm obviously biased...but it's way too early to tell. The pieces on that Colts team + the much improved coaching are big factors in Indy's 8-4 record, but let's be honest...this is not a typical 8-4 team. Other than a nice win over Green Bay, the other wins have been against Minnesota, Cleveland, Tennessee, Miami, Jacksonville, Buffalo, and Detroit...not a playoff team in the bunch. That's not really ripping on Indy - if anything, it highlights solid coaching as they are beating the teams that they're capable of beating each week - but how many teams are there out there that are 8-4 with a -41 point differential? RG3 is incredible to watch - but he needs help. I fear that like many super-athletic quarterbacks who stretch the pocket on every play, he's going to be more injury-prone than Luck (who, for the most part, stays confined in the pocket). But like others have said, this will be interesting to compare again in five years. HOLY HELL the Colts are going to be a playoff team. Even if they just end up as fodder for most anybody else in the AFC who will play them in the playoffs, it's a good two years ahead of schedule.
Note: Luck plays in AFC vs. RG3 in NFC. NFC has far more superior defenses than many AFC teams. RG3 has ripped em apart.
When VY gets to throw 54 times in a game, then you can compare the 2. After this game, Luck attempts more passes this year than anyone but Brees. He's a freaking rookie. The Indy's offense basically feasts and famines on Luck. Secondly, Luck has a better QBR rating than Manning in his rookie year. His QBR will increase next year. He still is a rookie, and thus throws some bad passes (and b/c he throws so much, hence the high interceptions). He'll learn. He's already doing more as a rookie than many QBs do in their 2nd/3rd year. Indy's coach said Peyton didn't start doing the 2 minute drills and call his own plays until the middle of his 2nd year. Luck is already doing it. RG3 has been ridiculously awesome also. But he has a great running game (and that is aided by him I admit) and a great offensive-minded coach, who has catered and helped him along slowly. But both will be great if they keep improving. I just feel Luck has already been allowed to do a lot, and experiment a lot by himself that it will help him make a bigger jump the next few years.
