Holy crap, they beat Arizona.....did anyone watch this game? I just saw that Arizona lost and was shocked....
Too bad Arizona wasn't full strength, but since they lost that means the SEC is (arguably) the best basketball conference right now. Kentucky beat No. 6 Indiana and LSU won, also ALabama is the new AP No. 1. There will be some tough matchups later this year.
Kentucky beat No. 6 Indiana and LSU won, also ALabama is the new AP No. 1. And to think, OU should've beaten them.....
They were....and from what I remember (and I think you do too) is that OU played their worst game, aside from the Indiana game, in the past year and a half.....
So are you trying to discount bama's win or trying to run excuses for OU. OU played poorly; they know it, everyone knows it. It was very embarrassing for them, and there was a lot of pressure on them. They were featured that entire week on ESPN and ESPN.com. While it seems that Alabama has struggled in each of their games (which they have), they still win. They almost blew a 25-point lead to Bowling Green two weeks ago and survived poor shooting yesterday by the Friars. They know which games will be tough for them. Coach Gottfried was saying that before the Providence game. He was commenting on how they are a tremendous 3-point threat and whatnot. The fact is, Alabama gets lackluster in the second half but, to date, has prevailed in every match. I do think that if there was to be a rematch between OU and Alabama, the Sooners would blow them away.
So are you trying to discount bama's win or trying to run excuses for OU Neither. I'm saying that if OU played like they are playing now, they would've won.
HAte to say it, but DUH. I honestly think that first loss will help them throughout the season. Now they know how to get through the remaining schedule, as though or as easy as it may be, knowing they cam close to knocking off the current No. 1.
Anyway, Mississippi State on Saturday may very well be the biggest test for OU, including Alabama....their upcoming schedule is freakishly tough....Miss State, Michigan State, and UCONN....
Yeah Mississippi state is a REAL tough team. Now a bit harder to beat with Mario Austin back. I was at the Alabama-Miss. State game last year in Starkville. It was their 4th loss of the season and a real tough one that sent them struggling until the end. I just hope OU will do better than the Tide did.
Well Whatdayaknow? Miss State- 54 OU- 45 OU shot 35%, MSU shot 35%, an ugly battle all the way. When your backcourt shoots 13-42, Ebi Ere only scores 9, there's no possible way you beat a good team like MSU. Oh well.
