For those that have taken the LSAT, how long is the actual test? I believe I have to be at my testing center at 8:00am, when can I expect to be done with the test and heading home? Also, how much did you study for the first time you took the test? Just trying to gauge where I'm at.
I think it was around 3.5 hours. IIRC. I took at least 10 practice exams prior to the actual one. I studied especially for the Logic games for about 2.5 months solid. I did well enough (157) to get into Law school with an iffy gpa, so I guess I accomplished my goal.
I studied for a month for about two hours a day. I took a prep course called Testmasters, but also bought a Princeton Review "Cracking the LSAT" too. Listen to Mulder. The key is to take as many practice exams as possible under test conditions. Good luck!
I took it with out a watch (forgot) and ended up getting a really bad score (156). Made me really mad because I thought it was going to be a cake walk (should've studied for it). I did do around 5 practice tests through out the semester, though I think you should do around 20 if you really wanted to do well. I could've taken it again, but because they average them, chances of me raising the scores for a law school taht I would really want to got to is pretty slim. I've decided to just start working and see what happens a few years down the road. ADVICE: BRING A WATCH AND STUDY BEFORE HAND

Well, the reason I'm wondering about how long the whole testing process takes is because I have to work that night at 7pm. Just wanted to make sure I have some time to relax at home after the test before I go in to work since I would prefer not to take the night off.
I had no problems relaxing. I went to a movie afterwards (Something About Mary, I think) and was so happy the damn test was over that I had a stupid grin on for the rest of the day.
I took the test in October and I think I got out between 1 and 1:30. There are 6 35 minute sections, with time inbetween both sections, and a 10 to 15 minute break. Plus I guaruntee you will get started late. The section I think you can improve upon the most with practice is the logic games section. Good luck, man.
