If communists and perverts shouldn't be in government, either, than I guess big-city Democrats should leave also. Even as a black liberal, I'm not too sure I can equate tax cuts and tort reform with eugenics, Pat Buchanan notwithstanding.

You think Republicans are all about tax cuts and tort reform???

Karl Rove knows the secret to keeping their base happy is to attack homosexuals, attack immigrants, attack women's choices and never deny a southerner, his inalienable right to use his AK47 against the above.

A strategy against African Americans would also be on the agenda except that would be so 60's-ish and the attack dogs in Arkansas and Alabama are too pooped after eating bad dog food.

     Link?

Those who have a problem with Byrd have a problem with the constituents who voted him in. Personally I would not have voted for him, because of his involvement.

But it's not hard to see what basshole is trying to do. Throw as much **** against the wall and see what sticks.

My aunt's husband's family originally came from Mississippi. His grandfather was a grand wizard in the klan. He wanted us to know this before he married my aunt. It didn't matter then and it still doesn't because we have never heard or seen him act in a racist manner towards anyone. His mother is the same.

it's a pretty sad day when you are left trying to defend your beloved Bush as compassionate.

Can't defend him as a great leader or anything - no one, not even the republicans, can say that. 2/3's of the country hates the guy - can't call them all lib-pigs can ya?

So you're left to try to say that Bush is willing to do some kind things. He's not that bad. He would help an old lady...er....congressman....cross the street....i mean, aisle. Look - what a great guy after all. He's not the kind to take candy from a child....he's not Montgomery Burns. He's just Homer Simpson.

    Sad.

...and anyone associated with the NAACP or LULAC. The big bad Southerners aren't the only ones capable of racism.

You should probably let him answer first before you argue against a point he may not be making.

the difference b/t bush and bird is that bush's behavior was personally destructive, but bird was a prominent member of a terrorist organization which murdered people.

sure people can change, and im not even questioning birds sincerity when he says he has changed, but the fact that he once belonged to the kkk should automatically disqualify him from ever serving in public office, imo.

Perhaps. But he rarely answers anything.

More importantly, I said that he seemed to be arguing that. I left the door open should he want to clarify.

I understand that internet communication is far from ideal, and I always leave open the door that there was misunderstanding.
